8 OPEN STUDIO // COMMUNITY Story Time Art for Tots Thursdays, February - May 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Free! Recommended for ages 3-5 years old. Parental supervision required. Tots can relax, learn and get inspired creating art in this free interactive story time art class. We will begin each class with circle reading time, where little ones can learn about a story and get inspired by the illustrations. When the story is finished, students will head to the studio for a fun art project that is themed around the book. All ages are welcome, but the art project will be targeted towards a toddler age group. Friday Open Studios: Ceramics, Drawing & Kimball Clay & The Orange Studio Fridays, February - May 1:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. $10, drop-ins welcome! Come relax at the KAC on Friday afternoons in the studio. Open studios are meant to be accessible for our community, and encourage creativity! Take advantage of the time to get back into clay, painting or drawing on your own terms. Please note that students must bring their own materials for painting and drawing. Kimball Clay will provide participants with a handful of clay to get started on a project if you choose to check out the clay studio. Participants are encouraged to work independently. Come create and get inspired! *Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. If you are interested in spending more time in the studio, please inquire about our studio membership. Artist Professional Development Workshop I: The Field Thursday, May 18 6:00 p.m. 8:30 p.m. With Kerri Hopkins $13, BYO artwork. The Field is a peer-to-peer forum for artists to share work and exchange feedback. The Fieldwork method reveals how each piece is perceived by others and fosters a detailed information exchange that is both efficient and supportive. Insightful and stimulating critiques are guided by an experienced facilitator. Artists working in any medium (performing, visual, new media, craft, folk art, design, literary, music) are invited to attend, the groups are aesthetically diverse. Fieldwork is effective for beginning, emerging and established artists. Off the ChART Art After School Program McPolin, Parley s Park, Trailside and Jeremy Ranch Elementary Schools Winter 2017 semester coming soon! January 30 March 30 3:15 p.m. 5:00 p.m. Ages Join us for creative and fun-filled art lessons in drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media and more! Kids learn skills to build their confidence and imagination in art by developing techniques taught by trained Kimball Art Center instructors while working on inspiring art lessons. This program is for kids who are enthusiastic about art and excited to explore a variety of art media! It is also created for the busy parent who may not be available to drive their art student to the KAC for an art class. Convenience is key! All art materials will be included. Limit of 10 artsy kids per school. $240 for the 8-week session. Check the Park City School District Compass/Leisure Learning website for specific dates, details and registration. Birthday Parties! Let the Kimball Art Center organize and host your child s birthday party! Each 2-hour party hosted at the KAC will include an art party activity and time to celebrate, eat cake and open presents.
