Enjoy the different outdoor experiences of Winton Woods and a visit to Miami Whitewater Forest. This camp includes low ropes course, horseback riding, golfing, hiking, canoeing or kayaking, rock-wall climbing, wetland exploration and more! The adventures are endless at Great Parks with different experiences all day, every day. You re All Wet Ages: 8 14 Early Bird Price: $195 Regular Price: $215 Location: Winton Woods/Adventure Outpost July 30 August 2, 9 a.m. 3 p.m. Cool off this summer with Adventure Outpost! Campers will hit the water for activities including canoeing, kayaking, fishing, creeking and more. We ll visit wetlands, catch aquatic critters and explore water habitats at several Great Parks. Ultimate Challenge Camp Ages: Early Bird Price: $130 Regular Price: $150 Location: Winton Woods/Adventure Outpost June 19 21, 9 a.m. 2:30 p.m. July 17 19, 9 a.m. 2:30 p.m. It s a fast paced three-day adventure in Winton Woods! Campers will be challenged with individual sports such as archery, golfing, rock wall climbing and kayaking. They will also learn with team-building and partnered activities such as a low ropes course and canoeing. Page 1 of 8
2 Paddle Sports Camp Ages: Early Bird Price: $145 Regular Price: $165 Location: Winton Woods July 10 12, 9 a.m. 3 p.m. This camp is all about paddling! Join a certified American Canoe Association (ACA) instructor and Adventure Outpost staff on a three-day exploration into the world of water sports. Enjoy learning and practicing kayak and canoe skills on Winton Lake as we maneuver around our surrounding aquatic habitat and spot some of our resident wildlife. Archery Camp Ages: Early Bird Price: $75 Regular Price: $95 Location: Winton Woods/Adventure Outpost July 5 6, 10 a.m. 3 p.m. August 6 7, 10 a.m. 3 p.m. Trained archery instructors will cover archery basics using a compound bow during this twoday camp. Campers will learn basic archery instruction, as well as tournament style shooting, and take part in fun archery games. Survival Camp Ages: Early Bird Price: $95 Regular Price: $115 Location: Winton Woods/Adventure Outpost July 24 25, 9 a.m. 3 p.m. Do you have the skills to survive in the wilderness? Learn to create water out of thin air, start a fire, build a shelter, signal for help and more. Campers will be provided with a fire-starter that will be theirs to keep after camp concludes. 3 Farm Camps Growing Up a Farm Kid Camp Ages: 2 5 (with an adult) Early Bird Price: $55/child Regular Price: $65/child June 11 14, 9:30 11 a.m. Get close to the farm animals with your toddler or preschooler. Help with some simple farm chores, read stories, make crafts and play games. One parent or adult caregiver is required to stay, play and learn along with their child. Barnyard Friends Ages: 4 6 Early Bird Price: $70 Regular Price: $80 June 25 28, 9:30 11:30 a.m. July 2 6 (no camp July 4), 9:30 11:30 a.m. Does your child love animals and being outdoors? Then this camp is for them! We will spend four days exploring the farm while we visit with the animals, ride a pony, make crafts, play games and read stories. Campers will have hands-on opportunities to discover and investigate the farm in a safe, friendly and fun environment. Build It Barnyard Style Ages: 4 6 Early Bird Price: $85 Regular Price: $95 July 9 12, 9:30 11:30 a.m. July 30 August 2, 9:30 11:30 a.m. The farm needs some handy helpers to assist in building toys for the animals, creating simple machines to feed our farmyard friends, designing wildlife homes in the garden and more. Campers help care for the animals each day with farm activities including feeding the cows and chickens and grooming ponies. There s time to explore the creek, hike in the woods, fish at the pond and more. Fun, Farm & Flavors Ages: 7 10 Early Bird Price: $100 Regular Price: $110 July 23 26, 9:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m. Food can by fun! Put on your chef s hat and apron and help make your own lunch. We ll visit the farm animals that provide us with the ingredients, gather fresh produce from the garden then create a delicious meal. Meet farm animals, explore the woods and find out what on the farm we can (safely) explode and send flying. Fishing Camps Fishing Camp 101: Reeling in the Basics Ages: 8 12 Early Bird Price: $120 Regular Price: $140 Location: Lake Isabella June 4 7, 7:30 11:30 a.m. June 25 28, 7:30 11:30 a.m. Want to learn the basics of fishing? This camp is perfect for young anglers who are just learning or who have never fished before. Campers will be taught casting skills, proper knot tying techniques and how to bait a hook and use lures, as well as how to identify the fish they catch. All tackle and gear provided. Fishing Camp 202: Exploring Deeper Waters Ages: Early Bird Price: $120 Regular Price: $140 Location: Lake Isabella June 18 21, 7:30 a.m. 11:30 a.m. Let s learn about the different types of fishing! This camp is perfect for young anglers who already know the basics. Campers will be taught how to make their own lures and take care of their tackle. Advanced Horse Camp Ages: 7 17 Early Bird Price: N/A Regular Price: $320 Location: Winton Woods/Riding Center June 25 28, 9 a.m. 4 p.m. July 30 August 2, 9 a.m. 4 p.m. To qualify for the advanced riding camp, students must have achieved at least Novice level in lessons OR have attended at least four prior horse camps. Topics covered include horse safety, breeds, grooming and a variety of riding styles. Registrations accepted on a firstcome-first-served basis until camps fill and/or begin. Page 6 of 8
7 Hunt Seat Bootcamp Ages: Early Bird Price: N/A Regular Price: $395 Location: Winton Woods/Riding Center July 9 13, 9 a.m. 4 p.m. This camp is designed for serious riders who are part of an Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) team or who are collegiate Hunt Seat (IHSA) bound. Riders participating in this camp should have an intermediate or better level of riding proficiency with experience in the Hunt Seat/Hunter Jumper style. Campers will receive intensive under saddle coaching, with a focus on proper equitation, excellent sportsmanship and horsemanship. There will be no lack of fun along the way, but campers will leave polished and ready for their next show. Nature Camps Wee Wonder About Nature Ages: 4 5 Early Bird Price: $100 Regular Price: $120 Location: Sharon Woods July 10 13, 9:30 11:30 a.m. July 10 13, 1:30 3:30 p.m. Come out and explore just how wonderful nature can be through hands-on activities. Along the way, we will meet live animals, get creative and have fun in the great outdoors. Sign up for both sessions for even more fun and exploration. Each day we ll roam the forests, fields and creeks of Sharon Woods as we unearth ancient fossils, have close encounters with live animals and discover the amazing creatures that call this park home. We ll use nature to learn and practice basics such as composition, exposure and flash, macro and fast-action settings and portraits. Campers must bring their own digital camera (point-and-shoot, mirrorless or DSLR) with one lens. Photos on the Go Ages: Early Bird Price: $120 Regular Price: $132 Location: Sharon Woods July 24 27, 9 a.m. noon Join a professional photojournalist as we explore the parks through photography.
