II Ruth Tuomi Resource Specialist Sheri Jeffreys Department Specialist Barbara Capizzi Department Specialist Lunch Reservation: Van Reservation: Resource Office: It s a great time to look at natures surroundings and replenish yourself. Admire the sky's soft, fluffy clouds or a garden full of colorful flowers, take time to feel sand under your feet at the beach or absorb the warmth of the sun s rays. Also, take time to release and let go of any bad feelings, it aids in keeping you healthy. Create meaningful experiences, relax, and find peace each day so you can live your life to the fullest! Ruth Tuomi has been a staple at the Park Avenue Community Center for the past 15+ years. She managed the kitchen in the Nutrition building, volunteered for a non-profit organization on the PACC campus, and has been our Resource Specialist for 10 years. There are so many things to love about Ruth! She is personable, a good listener, funny, and works hard to assist all her customers. Her favorite saying is, Don t get wise bubble eyes or I ll knock you down to peanut size. Ruth definitely makes an effort to make people smile and laugh each day. She also enjoys cooking and sharing her homemade tamales, enchiladas, & salsa. Ruth has decided to start a new journey at the end of May, RETIREMENT! She will be moving out of the area to live closer to her family. You can see the excitement on her face when she starts talking about her grandsons. On behalf of the Community Service Department and seniors attending the Escondido Senior Center, I would like to wish Ruth a happy and adventurous retirement, we will miss you! The Park Avenue Community Center will be closed on Monday, May 28 in observance of Memorial Day Remember our fallen heroes....they are the reason that we are free. 1
