Lecture: Dept of Energy - Positioning Yourself for a Job in the Green Economy When: Tues Nov30 5:30-7:30pm Where: UCF Engineering Building 2 ENG II Room 102 What: I.D.E.A.S. invites the U.S. Department of Energy to UCF! Scott Minos, Senior Energy Technology Specialist at the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy (EERE), will give a presentation on career development directed towards undergraduate students. 5 Research Opportunity! Research & Mentoring Program (RAMP) Overview of RAMP: RAMP is designed to provide undergraduate students, who may be interested in pursuing graduate education, with research experience while working closely with a faculty mentor. In addition, the students participate in a variety of workshops designed to increase their awareness and knowledge of graduate school education. The aim of this program is to encourage more students from those populations who are traditionally underrepresented in graduate education to attend graduate school. Undergraduate students participating in this program receive $2,800 each year. Highlights on the RAMP opportunity: *2 year commitment (Spring, Summer, Fall 2011, Spring 2012) *At least 1.5 years until graduation *submit resume *2 letters of recommendation *spring class schedule *work schedule (if applicable) DUE DATE: Submit all information for RAMP by December 1st to: arboretum@mail.uucf.edu. What does the UCF Arboretum offer to the UCF community and greater Orlando? We offer an array of volunteer opportunities that help us run the community organic vegetable & herb garden, manage and restore campus green space, assist in campus landscapes, learn how to give tours, and more. We also offer educational Guided Tours of our on-campus nature trails and landscapes, other student opportunities including independent studies and internships and a Nature Yoga Program. How can I get involved and are there any benefits to me?
