5 301) Water Supply Logistics Instructor Glen Whittington - Buffalo Fire Dept This class will be tailored to the experience levels of the students and will encompass water movement, hydraulics, and water supply management. Pre-requisites: Must have a valid drivers license and be 18 yrs. Old CLASS BEGINS FRIDAY EVENING AT 18:00 302) EMT Recertification Instructor Wayne Harmon KCEAA The EMT Basic Refresher course provides individuals with the training necessary for recertification as an EMT, as required every two years by the State of West Virginia. The course qualifies for 24 CEUs. Training content covered by the refresher course includes: patient assessment, patient transport, airway management, cardiovascular emergencies, pediatric and geriatric patient care, emergency childbirth, bleeding and shock, and head and spine injury, among others. Hurricane Fire Dept This is a combination classroom and practical skills training on emergency vehicle operations. Safety, legal aspects, inspection and driver responsibilities are covered. Both written and practical examinations are administered. This class meets WV State Fire Commission and WV State EMS initial driver training requirements and recommendations. 6 201) Vehicle and Machinery Rescue Level 2 Instructor Darin Virag. Lieutenant.- Charleston Fire Dept This program meets or exceeds the requirements for NFPA 1006 Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications, Chapter 10, Level II. The student will learn to perform at the Technician Level as specified in NFPA 1670, Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents, Chapters 8 and 12.. Pre-requisites: Vehicle and Machinery Rescue Level 1 or Vehicle Machinery Search & Rescue Ops Full turnout gear with eye protection 202) Rescue with your Tools Instructor- Louie Robinson Ret. Capt.- South Charleston Fire Dept. This 2 day course covers some of the skills used since the 1950 s by firefighters to perform rescue with minimal equipment. A-frames with ladders, gin-poles, ladder hinge, and ladder brake are some examples of some of the skills that will be used. Pre-requisites: None Helmet, gloves, boots and clothing to work outside are required. 203) Calling the MAYDAY Instructor Brent Burger Culloden Fire Dept.. Know when you re in trouble and how to get out of it, fast! Day 1 will be discussing the proper way to call MAYDAY. Day 2 will be filled with scenarios designed to put you in the environment of experiencing situations that often occur to firefighters inside a structure. Pre-requisites: FF 1 Full turnout gear with SCBA and spare bottle 204) Basic Structural Firefighting Instructor Elza Black Valley VFD This class is designed for Firefighters to learn the basics of firefighting, use of PPE, SCBA, and other techniques used in firefighting. Pre-requisites: 16 Years of age and signed release form Full Turn Out Gear, SCBA, Spare Bottle. JUNIOR LEVEL APPROVED

7 205) Rope Rescue Level 2 Instructor Rodney Winter Asst. Chief (Ret.) Charleston FD Emergency responders will have the skills and knowledge required for certification to Chapter 6. Components include anchors, compound mechanical advantages, highline systems, and pick-off systems. Pre-requisites: Rope Rescue Level 1 or Rope Rescue Low and High Angle Ops. Please bring your own gear as we will have a limited supply for class. 206) ICS 300 Instructor Dan Taaffe Lieutenant St.Albans FD The target audience for this course is for individuals who may assume a supervisory role in expanding incidents. This course provides training on and resources for personnel who require advanced application of the incident Command System (ICS). Pre-requisites: ICS 100 & ) Man vs. Machine Instructor-Paul Niedbalski Jr. and Steve Cavender Students will be rotated through stations that cover scenarios such as crush injuries, limb entrapments, and impalements. Specialized rigging and advanced stabilization procedures will be heavily emphasized. Pre-requisites: Vehicle & Machinery Operations. Full Turn Out Gear, Eye Protection 208) Tank Truck Response Specialist Instructor-Tom Keefer Dupont This class is for the responder that will be involved with tank truck emergencies. Topics covered include tank truck anatomy and design, damage assessment, repair, and transloading. Pre-requisites: Firefighter 1 Full Turn Out Gear, Eye Protection

8 209) Public Information Officer (PIO) Instructor-Rudi Raines Kidder Executive Director, WV Sheriff s Association This course will fine-tune your public relations job skills. Through individual and group activities, students will develop and practice communication skills and identify ways to integrate all phases of emergency management into a comprehensive public information program. Pre-requisites: None 210) Street Smart Combatives Instructor Ernie Boggs, Steve Lusher & TJ Dillon This class is open to police, fire, or EMS personnel. The student will learn basic selfdefense techniques in order to neutralize and control a combative individual. Additionally, fear management, reading body language, and verbal judo are topics to be covered. Pre-requisites: None Clothing Required: Tennis shoes, BDU style pants, t-shirt

9 101) Meth Lab Ops Instructor Doug Beasley Kanawha Co. Sheriff s Dept. This course is for the benefit of first responders that may encounter working meth labs during firefighting or rescue operations. The course will cover the components of a lab, the processes involved, and the hazards associated. Pre-requisites: None Class Limit ) HealthNet LZ Management Instructor-HealthNet Staff The Landing Zone management class teaches the responders on the ground to recognize weather issues, landing area issues, ie, size, gradient, surface, overhead obstacles and give a proper report of same. Also, there are issues regarding approaching the aircraft, patient loading etc. Class Limit 25
