Tier 2: Queenswood Tennis Scholarship (QTS) applicants should currently be at the very least in the top 10 in the country, and potentially ranked nationally for their age group. 6 Queenswood Information 2017/ /2019 Bursaries Bursaries Bursaries are awards offered to girls who satisfy the school s required entry standards and who are deemed to have the potential to make a significant contribution to the school community, but who require financial assistance with the fees. Bursaries may, in exceptional circumstances, be awarded for up to 100% of tuition (day fees). Bursary awards will not normally cover the boarding element of the school fee or extra chargeable activities. Before any award is offered, parents must agree to be means tested, under a standard formula widely used in the independent schools sector. Shortlisted candidates will also have a home visit from an independent assessor. Queenswood is not richly endowed as a school and relies principally on fee income from which to fund Bursary awards. However, as a registered charity, the school is committed to the demonstration of public benefit through provision of Bursaries to widen access to a Queenswood education. The number of awards made in any one year will vary according to the quality and circumstances of candidates and the availability of funds within our agreed budget. All Bursaries are reviewed annually. Simultaneous applications may be made for both a Scholarship and a Bursary. The deadline for Bursary applications for 2018 entry is Friday November Further information and a Bursary application form can be obtained from the Admissions Office. Please note that we will only consider Bursary applications from candidates who are registered for entry to the school. 10
