1 Silver City Museum & Silver City Museum Society Boards Joint Meeting February 16, 2012 Present: Lucy Whitmarsh, Leif Nordell, Patrick Cohn, Tim Lindhorn, Marcia Stout, Susan Musgrove, Ida Caffey, Robin Thomas, Tracy Spikes, Norman Ruebush, Ron Henderson, Liz Mikols Meeting was called to order at 5:16 pm by Lucy Whitmarsh, Silver City Museum President. Introductions: Each Board member introduced themselves. Minutes of the November 17, 2011 meeting: Amendments were made. Liz made a motion that the minutes be accepted as amended and Susan seconded the motion. The amended minutes were accepted.. Museum Director s Report: Tracy presented his report (See attached.) The applicant for the curator job accepted another job. Museum will need to restart the search for the curator position. The Museum is also working on setting up tours. Committee Reports: Get Our House in Order (GOHIO): Need to get our financial policies in order. Still need a master plan Fundraising: Pauline Gomez and Charmeine Wait attended a fundraising workshop. Additional aid in fundraising available until June through the Wellness Coalition. Leif and Tom are working with the Rotary for their upcoming auction (See attached spread sheet) Get Mugged Downtown fundraising event (See attached.) Membership: Society has 337 members Ahead of budget Need to make sure people joining at a higher level receive their gifts associated with that level Annual fund collected $17,000. Want to change timeframe to September or October from Christmas timeframe. Research Library Advisory Committee: Equipment is antiquated. Tom Hester and Tracy to check out reader at the Town office. Looking at a way to set up a program to generate oral histories and make them part of the Library. Old Business: Retreat: Feedback indicated that it was worthwhile.
