Provide treatment for families and caregivers of demented patients to cope with behaviors that are manifest in that condition Recognize common dermatology conditions and manage them effectively. Appropriately prescribe medications to treat chronic kidney disease to prevent progression to renal failure Manage the care of HIV patients who present for general medical care, including coordinating medication use with the HIV specialists. Recognize and treat different types of hyperlipidemias with the multitude of treatments available. Maximize function in asthma patients Recognize emergency situations in pediatrics and stabilize patients in their initial presentation. Counsel patients in appropriate and effective contraceptive methods and provide ongoing management of contraception Diagnose and treat the woman who has chronic pelvic pain or abnormal vaginal bleeding. Appropriately manage patients time away from work while disabled and facilitate their return to work depending on their medical condition. Counsel patients on the pitfalls of using supplements that are not regulated and be able to place patient s use in a positive context.
