Designed to provide ample time for lecture, case discussion, and faculty interaction in a relaxed setting, each session within the activity is led by a faculty member from Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children s Hospital, or McLane Children s Hospital Scott & White. OBJecTiveS At the conclusion of the conference, participants should be able to: identify evidence-based treatment modalities for pediatric patients diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. incorporate into clinical care the revised American Academy of Pediatrics practice guidelines for the diagnosis and management of initial urinary tract infections in febrile infants and children aged 2 to 24 months. recognize the signs and symptoms and grade the degree of concussion when a child/ adolescent has sustained a head injury, order lab and imaging studies as indicated, and appropriately manage the patient s recovery. Apply the recommended preventive measures that have been demonstrated to reduce morbidity and mortality in children/adolescents with sickle cell disease. Apply the current recommended approaches to the management of children/adolescents with chronic fatigue syndrome, including devising a plan for returning the patient to school.
