OSHA requires employers to provide their employees with a safe and healthful workplace. Michael C. He has represented management in employment law and related litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Mike has represented general industry, construction and agricultural employers regarding OSHA matters. Even though the OSHA general duty clause is a longstanding part of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, its proper use is frequently misunderstood, sometimes even by OSHA itself. Understand the General Duty Clause from a recognized legal expert so you don t get surprised by a general duty citation!

6 Congress Presenters Greg Schaefer Safety Officer, City of Fayetteville - Board Member, Safety and Health Council of North Carolina Greg served in the US Army for 23 years, 16 of those years as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, retiring at the rank of First Sergeant. After the Army, Greg took a job with UPS as a Safety Supervisor and Workers Compensation Claims Manager for East Carolina. He is currently the Safety Officer for the City of Fayetteville. He has more than 25 years of Safety experience and is qualified by NSC to teach Lift Truck, Flagger, DDC-4, Blood Borne Pathogens and CPR/First Aid. His certifications include ASC, E-MESH, P-MESH, and MESH. Greg holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from Campbell University, Buies Creek NC. In his spare time Greg volunteers as a North Carolina Hunter Education Instructor and the secretary for the North Carolina Chapter of the Military Warrior Support Foundation.
