Directions to South Penn Campus: SOUTHBOUND and NORTHBOUND from I-35: Take Exit 117 at SW 4 th St., Moore, then travel west approximately 3 miles to SW 134 th & South Pennsylvania. The street name changes from SW 4 th in Moore to SW 134 th Street in Oklahoma City. SOUTHBOUND and NORTHBOUND from I-44: Take Exit 110 at SW 134 th Street. 3 8:30 a.m. - Opening Session: Everyday Leadership from some Not So Everyday Characters 9:15 a.m. -Rebecca Eastham, BIS Director, Meridian Technology Center Everyone is a leader! Leadership is influence, nothing less and nothing more. From the CEO, to the college student, to the stay-at-home mom, to the small business owner. Everyone is looking to gain influence in their personal and professional life. To be a better leader, one needs to understand the basic needs of followers. This session will explore how to meet those needs with some everyday leadership tips from some, not so, everyday characters. Conference Center A/B/C/D/E, Main Building, S. Penn Campus 9:30 a.m. - STEM Students: Inspiring Them, Challenging Them, Preparing Them 10:20 a.m. -Robin Schott, VP of Engagement, West Central Region, Project Lead the Way This session will provide strategies for recruiting and inspiring students to take a rigorous STEM program of study throughout K-12 that will scaffold skill building each year. We will specifically focus on high school course planning that prepares students for STEM college/university programs and careers. We will share the latest resources for students that include STEM assessments, STEM resumes, credentials, networks and work based learning opportunities that will set them apart. Penn Campus Elementary and Middle School Career Awareness/Exploration -Panel Presentation Scratch and Patch Hospital -Merida Tomb, Counselor, Wes Watkins Technology Center WWTC health programs have created a mock hospital experience that is a wonderful combination of field trip for elementary school children and simulated clinical experience for our health students. This activity brings between elementary school children to our campus, and provides a clinical experience that is specifically related to each program area in our health division. Career Exploration in the Middle School: A National Profile -Jan Bennett Bell, Career Advisement, Tulsa Technology Center Research has identified middle school as a time when students can benefit the most from career exploration. Career exploration can engage this age group at a time when many of them are disengaging. This session will focus on the ACTE's initiatives in this area. Conference Center B, Main Building, S. Penn Campus ICAP Pilot Schools-Lessons Learned -Panel Presentation Careers and College Start in Kindergarten-Career and College Awareness for all ages. -Kacee Poteet, Middle School Counselor, Bristow Public Schools Presentation of College and Career Week in the middle school and district-wide that was organized during the school year. We will look at the daily activities during the week: local career speakers, careers on wheels event, diploma day, teachers tell their story, and Career Tech field trip. Penn Campus Faces of Change: Understanding and Managing Generations in the Workplace -Art Atkinson, Vice President of Express University, Express Employment Professionals International Headquarters Currently, there are four unique generations working side by side in the workforce. And, in just a couple of years, there will be five. With greatly varying beliefs, influences, and traits, it's bound to cause some conflict. Faces of Change is intended to shed light on the different generations and a few best practices to manage them. Including insight on the characteristics of Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen Xers, and Millennials, this program will help you understand generational shifts and expose areas that are prone to generational conflict. Penn Campus Fun with Assistive Technology -Sandra Wright-Hackler, Speech-Language Pathologist, Oklahoma ABLE Tech Fun with Assistive Technology will provide a show and tell of the common and not so common devices that help students with disabilities succeed in school and employment. This session will help you meet the needs of the one in five students with disabilities and how using AT including free to low cost accommodations will reduce the barriers to getting the right job. Penn Campus Workkeys Update -Laurie Richison, Career Readiness Certificate Coordinator, ODCTE This session will cover updates to the ACT Workkeys assessment procedures and the WorkKeys Curriculum. Penn Campus Methodologies for College Credit from Technical Programs -Dr. Debbie Blanke, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education -Mr. Kyle Foster, Coordinator for Academic Affairs Initiatives, Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education The State Regents have worked with colleges/universities and technology centers over the last several years to develop methods for students to earn college credit from technical programs in alignment with the Higher Learning Commission criteria. This session will provide guidance for advisors and recruiters to explain these methods to students, parents, and high school staff. A Win Win for both Industry and CTE! -Gay Pettit, Career Development Counselor, Canadian Valley Technology Center -Bill Bradley, Assistant Superintendent, Canadian Valley Technology Center This presentation will describe the day-to-day workings of the Mentor Match program at CV Tech in Chickasha. Implemented in 2014, partnerships were established with industries throughout the district who were looking to find better, more well-trained employees. CV

10 Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect -Shelby Lynch, Education Coordinator, Care Center Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect is for teachers, counselors, professionals, and volunteers who work directly with children. The training provides participants with tools to recognize the signs & symptoms of abuse, the long-term effects of child abuse, how to handle a disclosure and how to respond to suspected abuse in a safe way and the steps to take to report any concerns of child abuse.
