Events such as urgent large scale utility repairs or major construction with very high truck traffic can leave an agency with decimated pavements and a huge bill to pay. Hear how agencies experienced in these situations have handled them to maximize their benefit. With roughly three quarters of local agencies in California having a formalized pavement management program (PMP), a big challenge is to use it efficiently to develop yearly maintenance and repair plans. Sustainable Engineering Technologies in Pavement Infrastructure Over 150 agencies have employed one or more sustainable pavement recycling techniques such as Cold-In-Place Recycling (CIR), Cold Central Plant Recycling (CCPR) and Full Depth Reclamation (FDR). These newer techniques are reported to have cost savings ranging up to 50% when compared to older conventional remove and replace, rehabilitation or reconstruction.
