APPLICATION: All applications should be submitted in writing to the Training Supervisor, Department of Emergency Services. Application deadline is normally 10 days prior to the start of the course. The Training Supervisor reserves the right to cancel any course due to lack of written applications received. Fire/Rescue Training Weekend classes have their own application process and fees. Call the office for details. ADMINISTRATIVE FEE: In accordance with a policy approved by the Tioga County Firemen s Association and the County of Tioga in 1988, a tuition fee of $5.00 will be assessed each student in State Fire Academy courses conducted in Tioga County or hosted by any member of the association. This fee is billed to the student s department upon completion of the course. No fee is assessed for students who drop or fail to complete fire courses regardless of the reason. Department of Health courses including, but not limited to: EMT, First Responder, Basic Vehicle Rescue, Special Vehicle Rescue, and Basic Rescue Practices have a special tuition fee associated with them. Tuition is billed to the individual or to the department or company sponsoring the individual if the department or company has approved the payment. All students registering in these programs will be billed regardless of their completion status. Continuing Education courses for EMS personnel held under the sponsorship of Tioga County are billed under the same policies as fire courses with the following fee structure: Courses 5 credit hours or less = $1.00/Credit hour. Courses 6 11 hours in length = $5.00. Courses 12 credit hours or more will be assessed a fee based on the type of course and related to the actual expenses involved.
