1 Summer 2017 The Stars Align for Operation FINALLY HOME OPERATION FINALLY HOME WELCOMES AMERICAN STORIES TOUR WITH CRAIG MORGAN AND SPECIAL GUESTS THIS FALL U.S. Army veteran and country music entertainer Craig Morgan has partnered with Operation FINALLY HOME as its newest ambassador. The official announcement was made April 19 during the kickoff of Operation FINALLY HOME Welcomes American Stories Tour with Craig Morgan and Very Special Guests at the House of Blues in Houston, Texas. Craig announced from the stage that he was reprising his intimate, immersive American Stories concert experience this fall with a series of dates from September through November. The shows will benefit Operation FINALLY HOME and celebrate the American values through both music and storytelling. The partnership is a continuation of Craig s support of Operation FINALLY HOME. Last November, Craig teamed with Operation FINALLY HOME to surprise U.S. Army SSG Justin Raymer and family during his American Stories Tour concert in Warsaw, Ind. Last year, I had the opportunity to be part of a home surprise in Warsaw (Ind.) and it opened my eyes to the amazing work done by Operation FINALLY HOME, Morgan said. As a veteran myself, I know how critical it is to provide support to our soldiers beyond their active-duty service. Operation FINALLY HOME is helping veterans and their families build new lives and I m proud to partner with them on my tour this fall. Morgan spent 17 years serving our country, including more than 10 years on active duty. He has made 14 overseas trips to entertain U.S. troops and has worked with other organizations which support out troops. Finally Home Debuts at The Grand Ole Opry Award-winning radio host and country music star, Tracy Lawrence, invited fellow country star Craig Morgan to join him onstage at the Grand Ole Opry Aug. 16 to debut the song Finally Home, a new duet appearing on Lawrence s forthcoming album featuring collaborations with fellow country music artists on some of his most iconic hits. A portion of the proceeds from Finally Home will be donated to Operation FINALLY HOME. Operation FINALLY HOME founder Dan Wallrath and Executive Director Rusty Carroll joined Tracy and Craig for the debut. 2 A Few Words from Dan Laying the Foundation for Success As Operation FINALLY HOME announced its partnership with Craig Morgan and his American Stories Tour, it caused me to reflect on how far we ve come as an organization in terms of fundraising. It seems like just yesterday that we were organizing bake sales to help fill the gaps in funding to build our first homes. Over time, as Operation FINALLY HOME continued to grow in credibility, organizations like Acme Brick, LP Building Products, Mohawk Flooring, MetLife Foundation and many more came on board. Today, in addition to wonderful corporate partners, we are fortunate to have high-profile individuals like Craig Morgan, Kix Brooks among many others stand behind Operation FINALLY HOME and support our mission in so many ways. When Craig hits the road with his American Stories Tour this fall, he will not only be helping us raise money but he will be taking our message to brand new audiences. Every dollar counts sometimes sounds like a cliché but, in reality, it is the truth. So, while we need - and value - our major corporate donors and our celebrity supporters, we feel exactly the same about individuals who donate $1. We just encourage everyone to do what they can to support the families of our troops. If the American Stories Tour is coming to a city near you, I hope you take the time to go out, enjoy the show and thank Craig for being a great role model and advocate for our military. And, if the spirit moves you, we d appreciate your consideration of a donation to Operation FINALLY HOME. You can simply fill out the card in our newsletter or click on the Help A Hero Now tab on our website. Together, let s continue to work towards ensuring our military heroes and their families have the housing they need and deserve. God Bless, Dan Wallrath Founder of Operation FINALLY HOME Homefront Heroes Partners: How Operation FINALLY HOME Sponsors are Helping Veterans Operation FINALLY HOME is fortunate to have many partners and sponsors who are an important piece in building homes for our deserving military veterans and their families. These partners are integral in providing products and dollars in order to complete these homes. Below are some comments from various partners about why they want to help build homes for our military heroes and families. The Texans are proud to support our returning military veterans through Operation FINALLY HOME. Honoring our veterans and service members is a cause that is extremely important to the McNair Family and the entire organization. One of our favorite parts of the program is taking part in surprising the veteran, usually in front of 70,000 screaming fans at NRG Stadium. We are honored to participate in each aspect of the Operation FINALLY HOME process from the surprise, to the groundbreaking, to Notes of Love, and finally the dedication. Thank you for letting us be a part of saluting our heroes. Adrienne Saxe, Director, Community Development Houston Texans As Texas is home to the largest number of military and former military personnel, we see many service members returning from combat with severe disabilities. By partnering with Operation FINALLY HOME, we support severely wounded warriors and their families in need with the greatest gift of all, a home to call their own. The mortgage-free home giveaways are just one part of our own initiative, H-E-B Operation Appreciation, that spans every part of our company and creates opportunities for us to honor the men, women and families who sacrifice so much for our country. Winell Herron, Group VP of Public Affairs H-E-B First Federal Bank believes in investing in the communities we serve, and what better way than to assist veterans who have served and sacrificed to protect all of us and our freedoms? First Federal benefits immensely as we get to partner with our employees and clients to invest in a great cause that has a lifechanging impact on a family and their future. My favorite event was the announcement to the Olson Family on the Summerfest grounds. The family was surprised and humbled to be selected to receive the promise of a new debt-free home. You could feel the hopefulness and appreciation in the family s gracious acceptance. David Rosenwald, Sr. VP Chief Lending Officer First Federal Bank, Waukesha, WI
