2 Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program June 15, 2015 The A&F Scholarships are available to high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. There is up to $1,000 in prize money. Albert Shanker College Scholarship Fund of the United Federation of Teachers Jan. 30, 2015 The program is limited to New York City public high school seniors who will graduate from a vocational, academic or alternative school or will receive an equivalency diploma from a public evening school or a New York City Board of Education alternative educational program. In addition, students must have high academic standing and demonstrate leadership in school and community. All applicants also must be eligible to receive and must apply for federal financial aid (a Pell Grant). 3 American Immigration Council - Change in Motion Multi Media Contestsa March 2, 2015 This program is a contest to produce a short (less than 5 minutes) multimedia project about the benefits of immigration. Acceptable entries are videos, photo essays or slideshows. The first place winner will receive a $1,000 dollar cash prize, second place $500 and third place $250. Open to anyone 14 to American Meteorological Society Fellowship/Scholarship Program for High School Seniors February 6, 2015 The AMS will award funding to high school seniors entering their freshman year of undergraduate study in the fall. Awards will be made on the basis of academic excellence. The scholarships are renewable for the sophomore year, providing recipient has demonstrated a successful first year of undergraduate study, and plans to continue studies in the AMS related sciences. The two-year scholarships are for $2,500/year for the freshman and sophomore years. AMS/ Industry Minority Scholarship February 6, 2015 Students who wish to pursue careers in atmospheric or related oceanic and hydrologic sciences. They must be high school seniors and send in transcripts, SAT scores and a letter of recommendation. Also, you must write a short essay proposing a solution to the atmospheric crisis. Award: $20,000 college Fashion Institute of Technology Global Scholar Award Program (Undergraduate) December 18, 2015 The FIT Global Scholar Award Program provides funds toward the costs of studying abroad for a semester or a year abroad during the academic year The award can be used for any FIT Study Abroad program for which the student receives at least 12 academic credits towards their degree. The Fountainhead Essay Contest April 26, th and 12 th graders Essays will be judged on both style and content. Judges will look for writing that is clear, articulate and logically organized. Winning essays must demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the philosophic meaning of The Fountainhead.

10 Essay submissions are evaluated in a fair and unbiased four-round judging process. Judges are individually selected by the Ayn Rand Institute based on a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Ayn Rand s works. To ensure the anonymity of our participants, essay cover sheets are removed after the first round. Winners names are unknown to judges until after essays have been ranked and the contest results finalized. Quest Bridge The College Prep Scholarship Late March 2015 The College Prep Scholarship provides students with the potential to receive multiple awards, including full scholarships to summer programs at leading colleges, individualized college admissions counseling, invitations to our College Admissions Conferences, all-expense-paid visits to college campuses, and more. The College Prep Scholarship application opens in February and is due in late March.

16 Quest Bridge The National College Match End of September 2015 Through an application uniquely designed for low-income students, applicants can apply to our 35 partner colleges and may be admitted with full four-year scholarships to these schools. The National College Match application opens in August and is due at the end of September. Random House Foundation Inc. Creative Writing Competition February 6, 2015 The Random House, Inc. Creative Writing Competition recognizes the unique vision and voices of New York City high school seniors with scholarship awards. The Competition further supports student writers throughout the writing process with in-school programs and teacher training. Ronald McDonald House Charities U.S. Scholarship Program Starting: October 1, 2014 (for the year) Deadline: January 20, 2015 McDonald offers scholarships to students from communities who face limited access to educational and career opportunities. The students must submit their transcript, a personal statement, letters of recommendation and the application. St. Lawrence University Community Service Scholarship February 1, 2015 The Community Service Scholarship is a $40,000 scholarship over four years ($10,000 per year) awarded to students based on past and current participation in community service. Any students of U.S. and/or Canadian citizenship, who are applying as a first-year or transfer student and who have shown initiative and leadership in their work are eligible to apply for the Community Service Scholarship.
