To enter, log on to the website and submit essay by 11:59 PM Eastern Standard time by the last day of the contest period. Contest is open to anyone that is 16 years of age or older. Each essay must be at least 300 words. Visit website for detailed information and to submit essay: $200 Varsity Tutors runs a monthly $200 college scholarship contest where students must write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is chosen to receive the scholarship. Gomez Memorial Foundation Fund is established as an endowment by the family of Steve and Julie Gomez to honor the memory of their daughter Angela C. Gomez. The fund provides college financial assistance to outstanding graduating student athletes or cheerleaders at Poly High School who have a dream of helping others and are pursuing a college education at an accredited community college, state college or university. Student athletes and/or cheerleaders must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applications available in the office. 5/1/18 $1,000 This scholarship is available to outstanding African-American or Hispanic/Latino students residing in Riverside or San Bernardino counties. Applicants will be judged on a variety of criteria, including academic achievement, leadership in school activities, commitment to the community, character, determination and financial need. Applications available in the office. 5/1/18 $1,000 This scholarship honors the late councilman and his wife for their service to the Riverside community. This scholarship is open to students from all backgrounds; however, qualified African American students may be given priority. Applicants will be judged on a variety of criteria, including academic achievement, leadership in school activities, commitment to the community, character, determination and financial need. Applications available in the office. 5/1/18 $1,000 This fund is the legacy to their efforts to ensure equality in education, housing, employment, and opportunity for underrepresented and disadvantaged citizens in Riverside. Community 5/1/18 $1,000 - $5,000 High school freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors who are US citizens or eligible non-citizens are invited to apply. Applications are available in the office. 5/22/18 $1,000 This is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any postsecondary institution. To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay of less than 1000 words on the topic: Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most. Parker Community is a one-time $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to 25 college-bound high school seniors. The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker, Inc. values education and offers this scholarship to empower community youth and provide resources to help them attend and stay in college. To qualify, high school seniors must complete the application form online which includes submitted a short essay or video on this year s select topic, a GPA of 2.5 or higher and submit all required fields online.
