10 IEEE s New Policy on Technical Co-Sponsorship of non-ieee Conferences by IEEE OUs
11 New IEEE Policy 10 Rules for TCS In the recent past, an IEEE Organizational Unit (OU) such as a section or region could be a technical co-sponsor (TCS) of a non- IEEE conference presented by not-for-profit organizations and universities without any cost to the OU. In the not too distant future, perhaps as early as 2016, any OU that technically co-sponsors a non-ieee conference is subject to a registration fee plus a $15 per paper review charge for papers going into Xplore. This charge is not to be taken lightly as we may be talking about thousands of dollars for each TCS conference. MGA has not yet decided how to address these charges for our regions, sections and other MGA OUs.

13 Past/Future Collaboration with Region 2 Region 1 and Region 2 have had a long history of collaborating on joint regional WIE and Student Conferences. This November, Region 1 and Region 2 are planning on a joint R2- R1 WIE Conference in Philadelphia. PROPOSAL: Work together with IEEE-USA to create an annual one day technical conference (LISAT model: that would precede the Region Meeting and provide a small income stream for both the Region and IEEE-USA. This might combine the SAC/YP/WIE annual meetings as well. Use the GreenTech MOU model to reduce overall local section risk (e.g., section risk = 2xseed money loan).
