The Hospitality House Open House for CHC Employees An Open House for the Hospitality House was held on May 5. Employees of CHC toured the House and learned more about how the facility provides a needed respite for families of patients at The Medical Center and Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital. In January, the facility opened with 12 private bedrooms and baths to temporarily house qualified families of critically ill or injured patients at The Medical Center and Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital, as well as qualified outpatients who are receiving intensive therapeutic care at the hospital. Qualifications for a stay at the Hospitality House are based on a number of factors, such as acuity of the patient in the hospital, transportation difficulty, lack of local support systems, and financial difficulty. The patient s assigned Social Worker will evaluate the case and contact the Hospitality House as needed. If you have any questions about criteria, contact the Hospitality House at For questions about referral, please contact The Medical Center Social Services Department at After 4 p.m., on weekends and holidays call the Switchboard at for the social worker on call. CHC Employees can contribute to help support the ongoing operations of the House through ECHO (Employees Contributing to Help Others) by either payroll deduction or a one-time donation. For more information about ECHO and how to donate, contact Commonwealth Health Foundation at kasmith@chc.net, , or visit CommonwealthHealthFoundation.org to download a payroll deduction form.
