3 REFERRAL TIPS For Transport, Inpatient Admission, or For a Pediatric Subspecialist Consult GO-MERCY ( ) Call this number 24 hours a day to mobilize the in-house neonatal or pediatric transport teams or to consult with a pediatric subspecialist. You may also call this number to admit a patient directly to Children s Mercy Hospital or Children s Mercy South. The accepting physician will determine the best location for your patient based on their symptoms. Children s Mercy Hospital Medical and Surgical Admissions (24 hours a day): GO-MERCY ( ) Communication specialists will conference the caller with accepting physician, obtain specific patient information and determine mode of transportation to hospital. To speak with a pediatric subspecialist: Call GO-MERCY ( ), identify yourself, and ask to speak with a pediactric subspecialist and indicate their specialty. Also, please indicate the urgency of the call. If your call is urgent, a Children's Mercy physician will be connected to you or return your call within 15 minutes. If your call is not urgent, a Children's Mercy physician will return your call within three hours or within an extended timeframe of your choice.
