5 Course Structure The HLT41012 Certifi cate IV in Health Care (Ambulance) is delivered by qualifi ed St John paramedics as an interactive ten day program, which goes beyond the usual theory delivery in a classroom and instead gives students the opportunity to learn in a replicated work environment. Students will become virtual employees and will be learning within a replicated Industrial Emergency Medic environment, with simulated drills, exercises and industry specifi c scenarios. The interactive and hands-on nature of the course will ensure that students are well prepared to deliver medical aid when back in their own workplace settings. The course is also setup in modules, meaning that students can complete in a timeframe that suits them and their employer. Due to the practical nature of the face to face replicated work environment, the majority of the theory is delivered by interactive electronic resources that come pre-loaded onto a tablet that is yours to keep and use as you continue in your career in the Pre-Hospital environment. Enrolment should be a minimum of six weeks prior to attending the virtual workplace as there is a requirement to complete the essential pre-learning and assessment during this time. Internet access and a current personal address are required for the electronic learning and assessment. Course Prospectus HLT41012 Certifi cate IV In Health Care (Ambulance) I 5
