Tody it s considered credible therpeutic option, with enough scientific evidence to support its ppliction in vrious situtions nd clinicl settings relted to the tretment of cute respirtory disese, s well s chronic respirtory disese. Objectives: Chrcterize ptients undergoing NIV dmitted in Unit Intermedite Cre (ICU) in the period from October 1 st 2015 to June 30 th Methods: Prospective study conducted in ICU between October 2015 nd June In this study were included ll ptients hospitlized in this unit (ICU) nd in tht time period smple of 57 prticipnts ws obtined. As dt collection instruments we used questionnire for sociodemogrphic nd clinicl dt nd the Brden scle. Results: Prticipnts were mostly mle 38 (66.7%), the verge ge 69.5 ± 11.3 yers, rnging between 43 nd 92 yers. They weighed on verge 76.6 kg (52 nd 150), with n verge body mss index of 28.5 kg/m 2 (20 to 58.5). With skin intct 28 (49.1%) with bnorml perfusion 12 (21.1%), with ltered sensitivity 11 (19.3%) nd high risk of ulcer on the scle of Brden 37 (65%). The dmission dignosis ws respirtory filure 33 (57.3%) nd hd different bckgrounds. We used reused msk 53 (93.0%), the verge time of NIV ws 7.1 dys (1-28), 4.8 dys of hospitliztion (1-18) nd n verge of 7.8 IPAP pressure. 11 (19.3%) of the prticipnts developed fce ulcer pressure. Methods: This is retrospective descriptive-correltionl study with convenience smple of 448 clls. For continuous vribles we used the t-student test, for dichotomous vribles the c 2 test nd, finlly, we performed cluster nlysis by the TwoStep Cluster method through the log-likelihood distnce. Results: Users hve n verge ge of 44.8 yers being predominntly mle (58%). The cluster nlysis llowed to crete three groups whose profile shows tht the cluster 1 (n = 96/21.4%) re formed by older dults tht need to clrify minly doubts bout the results of uxiliry exmintions tests (AET)/prescriptions nd side effects/complictions; the cluster 2 (n = 232/51.8%) re formed by young dults tht cll to chnge ppointments nd minly to clrify doubts on the results of AET/prescriptions; finlly, the cluster 3 (n = 120/26.8%) re formed by middle ge dults tht wnt to clrify doubts bout mediction nd disese mngement. Results: Videodefecogrphy is dynmic contrst study, which uses brium pste introduced into the rectum with subsequent evcution in sitting position. It is simple technique, pinless nd with gret cost-effectiveness, tht llows the ssessment of morphologicl nd functionl disorders of the norectl re nd pelvic floor. We found tht in one-yer period, 149 videodefecogrphies were mde by conventionl rdiogrphy, which resulted in 26% of the ptients hving medicl-surgicl tretment on this context, 38% of them did not present ny disorders on theirs exms nd were excluded from this study, nd we did not hd clinicl ccess to the records of the remining ptients. Conclusions: The results demonstrte tht mny ptients were treted bsed on the findings of this exmintion, reinforcing the importnce of videodefecogrphy in the study of defectory disorders. The results of the study showed tht the intervention of rehbilittion nurse contributed to greter functionl independence (p = 0.001) s well s in power dimensions (p = 0.022), body cre (p = 0.041), use the bthroom (p = 0.001), climb stirs (p = 0.001), trnsfer chir/bed (p = 0.001) nd mbultion (p = 0.001) for the elderly without the intervention of rehbilittion nurse. Conclusions: In the group of elderly people with femorl neck frcture, which ws trgeted for intervention specilist nurses/ specilized in rehbilittion, there ws n increse in functionl independence it helps thus for effective mngement of cre nd services provided to these people. Despite being consensus in the literture tht the use of compression therpy is the best tretment there is still discussion bout the efficcy of different types of compression (O Mer, Cullum, & Nelson, 2009). Objectives: To describe the effectiveness of compression therpy of short trction on venous leg ulcers tretment. Methods: We perform retrospective descriptive correltionl study from non-probbilistic convenience smple (with strict inclusion criteri) with 30 users of primry cre clinic nd the medicl records were collected from Jnury 2013 to My A locl tretment protocol to the wound ws estblished nd pplied sociodemogrphic nd clinicl questionnire, the Pressure Ulcer Scle for Heling (PUSH) nd the Visul Anlogue Scle (VAS) of pin. Descriptive nd inferentil sttistics were performed with SPSS Results: Users hd men ge of 73.7 ± 10.6 yers, 56.7% were femle nd 43.3% mle. It ws found tht prior to tretment only 40% of users hd been treted with compression therpy nd 50% with the principles of wet environment. After inititing compression therpy the 6 weeks heling rtes re 56.7% nd t 12 weeks 86.7%. It ws lso found tht there is highly significnt reduction in pin fter 4 weeks of tretment with compression therpy (MR = 65.50; z = -2.55; p = 0.01); nd tht only occurred 7 recurrences (23.3%). Conclusions: Compression therpy is ssumed s the gold stndrd tretment of venous leg ulcers, reducing the heling time, recurrence rtes nd pin. Methods: Observtionl, descriptive nd retrospective study. Trget popultion: users enrolled in HCC with Pneumoni between 01/2013 nd 12/2015. Dt collection: clinicl process. Study vribles: gender, ge, comorbidities, smoking, nti-pneumococcl vccintion, dte of dignosis, symptoms durtion, physicl exmintion, rdiologicl control, plce nd type of tretment, recurrence. Dt collected through SClínico nd PDS nd processed in Excel. Results: 131 ptients were studied, of which 51.1% were femle (men ge 58.3 yers). 50.4% hd comorbidities. Most were nonsmokers (84.7%) nd hd no pneumococcl vccintion (88.5%). Jnury ws the most frequent month of dignosis (19.1%) nd the mjority of dignoses occurred in 2015 (37.4%). 55.7% (n = 73) of ptients resorted first to fmily physicin (FP); of these, 72.6% hd productive cough nd the men time of evolution ws 9.6 dys. 95.9% hd ltered usculttion. Chest rdiogrph ws ordered to 16.4%. 38.4% received outptient tretment, with moxicillin/clvulnic cid being the most prescribed therpy (46.4%). 61.6% were sent to emergency deprtment. 4.1% of ptients returned to FP. Conclusions: Once estblished the dignosis, n initil ssessment is required to determine the best tretment plce. The FP is in prime position to optimize the initil pproch nd follow-up of ptients. Contct detils: olivipereir@ipb.pt Introduction: Nonsteroidl nti-inflmmtory drugs (NSAIDs) re one of the most consumed drugs worldwide, by different ge groups. Objectives: The present study imed to chrcterize the NSAIDs consumption in students of Polytechnic Institute of Brgnç (IPB). Methods: A descriptive nd cross-sectionl study ws performed from September 2014 to June 2015, through ppliction of questionnire to 563 students of IPB. The smple ws composed by 67% femle students nd 33% mle students with ges of 21,9 ± 4.1 yers nd 62.3% consider their helth s good. Results: This study showed n high prevlence of NSAIDS consumption in students of IPB (93.3%). The drug most reported ws ibuprofen (95.8%), following by cetylslicylic cid (39.0%), diclofenc nd nimesulide (36.4 e 16.8%, respectively). Pin nd inflmmtion were min resons for its consumption (76.4% nd 55.8%, respectively) nd the orl dministrtion, the most used route of dministrtion (99.4%). A high proportion of students ssumes correct use of NSAIDs, tking the drugs during or fter mel (89.0%) nd during period of time between one to five dys (86.3%). It ws reported low rte of dverse events mong students (95.0%) nd the mjority hs considered the consumption of NSAID beneficil to helth (59.6%). Objectives: To show the prctice nd relevnce of n economic progrm of the CRC screening. Methods: The Screening Progrm of CRC in the centrl region of Portugl, consists in the ppliction of the fecl occult blood test (FOBT), bi-nnully, to ptients between 50 nd 70 yers, with referrl of ptients whose test is positive to colonoscopy. Secreterit selects the ptients nd mke the ppointment. On the dy of consulttion, the nurse meets with ptients nd teches them bout the methods to correctly collect the stool nd how they should et during those dys. The fmily doctor explins the purpose of screening nd performs questionnire through SiiMA computer progrm. In the end, FOBT kit (Hemoccult Kit) is delivered. Results: This progrm in 2015 llowed 51.7% of the ptients to be screened. For the yer 2016, it ws contrcted to 65% of the indictor. All positive results of screening hve been referred for colonoscopy. Conclusions: After cervicl cncer, the CRC is potentilly the cncer more susceptible of prevention. The growing prticiption of ptients to screening, in prt by the convenience of tht procedure, my be reflected in decrese in the incidence nd mortlity of CRC in the trget group covered by screening. Mediction dherence ws mesured by using the 8-item Morisky Mediction Adherence Scle (MMAS-8), estblishing three levels of dherence: low (score < 6), medium (6 score < 8), nd high (score = 8). The glycted hemoglobin (HbA1c) ws mesured with COBAS B 101, estblishing the therpeutic trget in 7%. Person correltions were performed between HbA1c vlues nd MMAS-8 scores. HbA1c vlues obtined mong the three dherence levels were compred by ANOVA with Bonferroni posthoc test. Results: The 154 ptients included were 70.9 ± 9.74 yers old nd 54.5% were femle. The men HbA1c vlue ws 6.6% (95%CI ). A significnt correltion (p = 0.008) ws found between HbA1c vlues nd MMAS-8 scores (Person r = ). There were significnt differences mong ptients HbA1c vlues within the three dherence levels (p = 0.021), with HbA1c vlues of 6.9% (95%CI ) for low dherence, 6.9% (95%CI ) for medium dherence, nd 6.4% (95%CI ) for highly dherent. Conclusions: Antidibetic mediction dherence evluted by MMAS-8 is predictor vrible of therpeutic success in type 2 dibetic ptients.

Results: Sttisticlly significnt differences were found between techers nd students in 2 of the QCC 26 items, i.e., in the stisfction with their bility to sk questions (p = 0.03) nd to nswer to questions (p = 0.002). Techers men scores were higher (i.e., more stisfied) thn students scores. Nevertheless, none of the scores were very high nor very different from ech other (Mst = 7.02 vs Mt = 7.62; Mst = 7.14 vs Mt = 7.95, in scle from 0-very unstisfied to 10-very stisfied). Methods: The smple consisted of 25 femle subjects, 12 in the experimentl group (women who tke orl contrceptive) nd 13 in the control group ged between 17 nd 24 yers. Results: After nlyzing the dt, we found sttisticlly significnt differences in the reltive prepondernce of cloric test. Methods: This explortory, cross-sectionl nd correltionl study ws bsed on questionnire, with MAT scle (mesure of dherence to therpy) vlidted for the Portuguese popultion (Delgdo & Lim, 2001), pplied to 276 members of Ptients with Lupus Assocition, in Portugl. It ws used descriptive sttistics nd chisqure test, with significnce level of 5%. Results: The smple consisted mostly of femles (96.0%), with n verge ge of 41 (± 11.46) yers old. Antimlrils, ntiinflmmtory nd immunosuppressive drugs re the phrmcotherpeutic groups more used. The prevlence of therpy dherence ws 80.2%. Fctors ssocited with Lupus therpy nondherence re side effects, do not feel improvement, not cceptnce, disese in remission nd do not feel the need to tret (p < 0.05). Conclusions: This study shows considerble prevlence of Lupus therpy dherence, being severl fctors ssocited with nondherence. Objectives: The study imed to determine prevlence of dibetics, the frequency of glycemic control, identify chnge in eting hbits nd physicl exercise, chrcterize the phrmcologicl therpy nd verify the therpy dherence in dibetics of northest Portugl. Methods: A descriptive nd cross-sectionl study ws performed by pplying n interview to 202 dult dibetics of Trás-os-Montes region (Portugl), bsed on questionnire, with MAT scle (mesure of dherence to therpy) vlidted for the Portuguese popultion (Delgdo & Lim, 2001). Results: The results showed 73.8% nd 26.2% dibetics of type 1 nd type 2, respectively. Most of the totl dibetics (38.1%, 77) hve controlled the glycemic once dy nd 122 (60.4%) hve modified eting hbits (92.6% hve reduced the sugr consumption nd 53.3% hve reduced the crbohydrtes consumption). Additionlly, 89.7% indicte the incresed frequency of physicl ctivity. Concerning their qulity life, 44.6% consider it s moderte. The drugs more used were metformin (63) nd insulin (52) nd the use of incretin mimetics ws low (13.9%, 28), with more expression of the ssocition of metformin nd vildgliptin (21). The prevlence of dibetics dherents to therpy ws 92.6%. Conclusions: The mjority of dibetics dhered to therpy nd the use of incretin mimetics remins with low significnce. Keywords: Dibetics. Methods: Glycosylted hemoglobin (HbA1c), totl cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), triglycerides (TG), systolic blood pressure (SBP), distolic blood pressure (DBP) nd body mss index (BMI) were mesured in 96 individuls with T2D (48 women nd 48 men; ± 6.34 yers; ± 7.55 yers of dibetes durtion; non-smokers; polymedicted) cndidtes to Dibetes em Movimento Vil Rel, community-bsed lifestyle intervention progrm developed in Portugl (NCT ). Results: No differences were observed in ge (65.98 ± 6.41 vs ± 6.33 yers; p = 0.703) nd dibetes durtion (10.38 ± 7.60 vs ± 7.58 yers; p = 0.835) between women nd men. Significnt differences were identified in TC ( ± vs ± mg/dl; p = 0.005), HDL (55.35 ± vs ± 9.84 mg/dl; p = 0.004), LDL ( ± vs ± mg/dl; p = 0.020) nd SBP ( ± vs ± mmhg; p = 0.004) between women nd men. No differences were observed in HbA1c (7.12 ± 1.13 vs 7.05 ± 1.33%; p = 0.767), TG ( ± vs ± mg/dl; p = 0.644), DBP (85.49 ± 7.97 vs ± 9.60 mmhg; p = 0.311) nd BMI (30.39 ± 3.76 vs ± 3.76 kg/m 2 ; p = 0.424), respectively. Conclusions: Women presented worse TC nd LDL levels, nd better HDL nd SBP levels thn men. Crdiovsculr disese prevention strtegies should consider these differences. Keywords: Gender. Type 2 dibetes. Methods: This observtionl nd cross-sectionl study included smple of 67 ptients who were under blood clotting control nd therpeutic monitoring in lbortory of Oporto, between Februry nd mrch of An individul survey by questionnire, ws pplied, whose dt were nlyzed by SPSS progrm. Ech potentil drug interction ws nlyzed using Lexi-interct softwre, which fetures its clinicl relevnce clinicl, ccording to severity, in A, B, C, D nd X. Results: Ninety four potentil drug-drug interctions were detected, nd 74.6% of ptients hd t lest one. About 85.1% hd clinicl relevnce C nd D, highlighted s the most prevlent nd most severe. The predominnt phrmcotherpy clss cusing potentil drug interctions ws HMG-CoA Reductse Inhibitors, with 24.5%, ctegorized with clinicl relevnce C. The most severe (D) were Crdic Therpy, Antigout Antimicrobil Antiepileptics, Antithrombotic nd nturl products. However, there ws no sttisticlly significnt ssocition between the clinicl relevnce nd the INR vlues (p = 0.168). Conclusions: The bsence of significnt ssocition my be due to the fct tht: ptients re pthologiclly stbilized nd chronic mediction is being co-dministrted, with doses djustment of nticogulnt therpy; or non-considertion of the diet, which my hve led the Helth Professionls to wrn nd educte ptients bout the importnce of conducting regulr monitoring of blood clotting.
