1 You made a difference staff awards May June 2014 Mays You Made A Difference Awards have been announced at Addenbrooke s hospital. This award recognises both teams and individual staff members who have 'made a difference' to patients, visitors or colleagues. This month 53 nominations were considered for the You Made a Difference staff award. This month s winners include: Tom Mills Audiologist Tom is a paediatric audiologist who started in the trust four years ago. His work involves diagnosis of hearing loss (both permanent and temporary) in babies/children/teenagers. Tom s was nominated by a parent who told us: Immediately he engaged with our child, was playful whilst getting his job completed. The whole thing was a positive experience and Tom s a true asset to Addenbrooke s Tom said: This is amazing! I m really just helping to show what all of the team does, I would like to thank everyone for their support. Page 1

2 Paul Dearman Healthcare Assistant Paul is a health care assistant in ward J2 Paul received four nominations this month which all focus around his caring and sensitive approach. One told us: Paul demonstrates great working practice and encourages others to follow suit, he is a true example of kind safe and excellent working in practise. Paul said: Thank you so much. I m so shocked that I won the award.
