2 Trinity County Board of Supervisors 11 Court Street, Room 230 P.O. Box 1613 Weaverville, CA Trinity County Collaborative Group 1 Horseshoe Lane P.O. Box 1450 Weaverville, CA Trinity Collaborative Formal Recommendation March 21, 2014 Dear Trinity County Board of Supervisors, The Trinity County Collaborative Group (TCCG) has formally voted and approved the following recommendation: The TCCG recommends that the Trinity County Board of Supervisors provide a letter of support for the Shasta Trinity National Recreation Area s (NRA s) grant they are submitting for improvements to the Trinity Center boat launching facility to the Department of Boating and Waterways. The TCCG supports the project as outlined in the grant application as well as the anticipated public and economic development benefits that will be generated from the project. Highlights of the project include: Increase boat ramp width, resurface with concrete V groove, and improve erosion protection. Construct turnarounds. Remove current sidewalk and construct improved sidewalk. Resurface and re strip parking area. Replace restroom. Benefits of the project include: Increased safety and efficiency of launching boats. Improved parking area. Contribute to improved tourism and outdoor recreation industry in Trinity County. For the full project description and benefits please see the grant application. Thank you for your consideration of a letter of support for this project. Sincerely, Naomi Merwin, on behalf of The Trinity County Collaborative Group

BOX 1613, WEAVERVILLE, CALIFORNIA PHONE (530) FAX (530) March 25, 2014 Department of Parks and Recreation Division of Boating and Waterways One Capitol Mall Suite 410 Sacramento, CA To whom it may concern: RE: Letter of Support for Shasta Trinity National Forest Service s Grant Application The Trinity County Board of Supervisors has formally voted on and approved supporting the Shasta Trinity National Recreation Area s grant application to the Department of Boating and Waterways for improvements to the Trinity Center boat launching facility. The Trinity County Board of Supervisors supports the project as outlined in the grant application as well as the anticipated public and economic development benefits that will be generated from the project. Trinity Lake is a central feature of Trinity County s tourism industry and the proposed improvements will greatly contribute to increased public safety and improved public experience when recreating in Trinity County. The improvements to the Trinity Center boat launching facility, as outlined in the grant, have broadbased support, and would greatly contribute to improving both Trinity County s economy and the publics recreation experiences at Trinity Lake. We greatly appreciate your consideration of funding this grant. Sincerely, Judith N.
