For each business, these information assets vary, yet the challenges surrounding them are the same: how to most effectively use those assets to serve your customers while securing and protecting against their loss or misuse. This session provides a starting point for creating systems to protect and support your company's information assets. The central topic is backup and restore, perhaps the most important IT system any business can implement. There s growing risk associated with the ever changing cycle. These risks are not just limited to lawsuits. Governmental audits can result in fines, penalties and even business suspension. This session points out the landmines located at each point along the cycle that can subject your organization to legal or regulatory claims and leave you in an embarrassing, if not unemployed, situation. In addition to minesweeping the cycle, attendees will learn an alternative path to decisions that are both organizational appropriate and risk averse. So, how should you proceed with caution through the phases: Applicant, New Hire, Existing Employee and Termination? What s critical to managing risk?
