2 Summary: Up to $3.75 Million is being made available for pass-through to state organizations and local programs: Up to 2.75 Million available to states, and Up to $1 Million* available to local programs Grant Initiatives for this grant period: Growth QA and Capacity-building Development Branding & Awareness Special Projects/Issues

3 State Growth Local Growth State QA & Capacitybuilding Competitive Grants to state organizations to support intentional program development and expansion consistent with a written statewide plan for growth Competitive Grants to local or direct service programs to increase the number of volunteer advocates recruited and serving more children who have experienced abuse and neglect in their local areas Competitive Grants for state organizations to increase or build capacity to be primary reviewers of their local program network for the future new highly effective standard review process (HESRP). Capacity-building support consistent with National CASA s commitment to work with, in, and through state organizations to provide high-quality support to local programs Competitive grants to obtain: governing body development assistance through direct engagement with BoardSource or resource development training

4 State Development Statewide Branding & Awareness Local Program Special Issues By Invitation Only grants for states identified as Developing or to establish a state organization where one does not currently exist - inclusive of hiring State Director and obtaining office space for the state organization Grants available to states to assist with efforts to refresh assets (e.g., update websites, print materials/collateral, etc.) consistent with the National CASA s new branding engagement with R&R Partners for the network Competitive Grants to local or direct service programs to target efforts to address any of three identified special issues impacting their jurisdictions: the opioid epidemic, human trafficking and children of incarcerated parents

6 GRANTS CRITERIA Growth Plans or submission of a written strategic plan for growth will be required for all state organization and local program Growth Initiative applicants Logic Models will be required from all state organizations and local programs either at the time of application and/or as a funding condition of award due no later than December 31, 2018 Local program applicants will be required to submit letters of support from their State Director, where a state organization exists Priority given to any applicants that propose an increase in volunteers activated and new children served; some awards may be associated with a required minimum # of new volunteers activated and new children served based upon award amount, depending upon the grant initiative (e.g., Growth grants) All grantees will be subject to accountability activities which, in addition to narrative and financial reporting, may include accountability calls, desk audits, onsite grant monitoring and demonstration documentation

The grants process for the Branding & Awareness Initiative, which launches towards the end of 2018, is dependent upon completion of the initial work of R&R Partners, the vendor National CASA has engaged to work on this project.
