7 GRANTS POLICY SUMMARY National CASA Association will sub-award up to $1 million to local programs in two sub-categories for : Growth and Special Issue Areas Grant Initiatives The grant cycle for the Local categories begins October 1, 2018 and ends September 30, 2019.

11 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Full Member in good standing with the National CASA Association Current paid membership* Completion of the 2017 annual survey & 6-month reports Compliance with National CASA Association Standards *Any questions regarding membership status should be directed to Successful performance on any current and previous National CASA grants Priority may be given to programs that have not been funded by National CASA within the last three years (2016, 2017 & 2018)

15 LOCAL GROWTH GRANT CATEGORY CRITERIA PROJECTED AWARDS
16 LOCAL GROWTH GRANTS Competitive Grants to local or direct service programs to increase the number of volunteer advocates recruited and serve more children (e.g. growth over previous years) who have experienced abuse and neglect. Program expansion with currently served or into new jurisdiction(s), mergers or other efforts to recruit more volunteers to serve more children. Growth plan. Indicate whether your program is urban, suburban, tribal or rural. Activities and projects that will result in an increased number of children served and meet the funding goal requirements noted for the award amount.
17 CRITERIA Grant applications must: Provide a strong growth plan that will lead to significantly exceeding the program s three year average growth rate of children who experience abuse and neglect served by CASA/GAL volunteers Include a letter of support from the state organization, where one exists. Provide measurable goals, objectives, activities and timelines that support achievement of the proposed outcomes. Significantly exceed the program s three year average growth rate of children served.
18 CRITERIA Grant applications must: Address recruiting and retaining a diverse volunteer base (attached Diversity plan if applicable) Provide a financial sustainability plan (form included in the application) to sustain increased growth long-term and retain current volunteer levels Have a representative of the governing body/board to authorize the submission of the grant application Provide an audit/monitoring corrective action plan, if applicable.
19 LOCAL GROWTH GRANT AWARDS Grant Period: 10/1/2018 through 9/30/2019 Award Limits: up to $75,000 Volunteer/Child Requirements: based upon award amounts

27 CRITERIA Grant applications must: Include a letter of support from the state organization, where one exists. Provide measurable goals, objectives, activities and timelines that support achievement of the proposed outcomes. Address recruiting and retaining a diverse volunteer base (attached Diversity plan, if applicable) Address in detail the targeted efforts on any or all of the issue areas Have a representative of the governing body/board to authorize the submission of the grant application, representative s name, title and approval date.
