1 ANNUAL REPORT

2 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD Time flies. We often hear that, but is that true for everybody? I am sure that if the question was asked to families with one or more children living with ASD, the response would be different. It would also be different if it was asked to theirbrothers and sisters. For them, and for their parents, time can seem to be dragging on and periods of respite are virtually nonexistent. At the Fondation de l autisme, every week we witness this crying need of respite. The speed at which we find takers for amounts allocated by the Fondation de la Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec (FFMSQ) to caregivers confirms respite is much need. We thank the Fondation de la Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec (FFMSQ) for trusting us in allocating this precious help. In 2017, we maintained our usual program of activities with success and we are pleased to inform you that all goals for the year were achieved. Loyal partners and generous volunteers offered their help to support our projects and events. A special THANKS to the Morzadec family for its unconditional support to our cause: the respite! The ending year was a one of renewal for the team at the Fondation de l autisme. Murielle Monette, our faithful assistant, left to take on new challenges and given Murielles excellent work, we are convinced of the success of her projects. By year end, we had also prepared for the departure of our executive director,. Marielle decided to hang up her skates after sixteen years of dedicated services at the Fondation de l autisme. We owe her so much! Thanks to her everlasting loyalty, she created essential bonds for the Fondation with the regional associations across the province. She maintained and cared for the quality of services of the Fondation and she developped an extensive network of partners and volunteers. Thank you Marielle!! You will always hold a beautiful spot in the heart of those who were lucky to meet you. You can leave know that the great work you did here ensures that you will not be forgotten anytime soon begins with a new executive director. The challenges are great but our recruit, Mrs Sophie Renaud, works with passion, enthusiasm and energy for our cause. Welcome Sophie! Such is life. At the Fondation de l autisme, renewal is always a guarantee of continuity. JOHANNE DESROCHERS President of the Board MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR It is with great emotion that I write this last message as the Executive Director of the Fondation de l autisme. I leave with a bit of sadness, of course, but also with a lot of pride and joy looking back on the work accomplished. Year after year, we offer financial support to hundreds of people with autism. In 2017, that represents about 650 persons, which is huge! But behind every person we helped, there are a lot of contributors who supported us. First, I want to mention the leaving of my faithful assistant, Murielle Monette, who worked beside me for six whole years. Good luck Murielle in your new challenges and thank you! I want to acknowledge the collaboration of every participant, sponsor and donor who contributed to the success of our activities. Thank you, also, to the board of directors, the members of the various committees and to the volunteers whom ensured the success of the activities carried out by the Fondation in A warm welcome to Mrs Sophie Renaud who will uphold the postition of Executive Director with the passion it deserves. Goodbye to all of you who believe in the mission of the Fondation de l autisme and allow people living with ASD and their families to Vivre l autisme autrement! MARIELLE PATRY Executive Director
