3 Town of Sullivan Parks & Recreation Dept. Sullivan Park 319 Lake Street, Chittenango, NY Open daily from 9 am until 8 pm. Rest rooms are available. Two pavilions are available by reservation from early May to early October. A Disc Golf Course is open during park hours. Sullivan Park is patrolled on a regular basis by the Chittenango Village Police, NYS Police and the Madison County Sheriff Department. Sullivan Park also has a caretaker on duty. There are two bocce courts and three public tennis courts open during park hours. Leagues and lessons may limit the use of the courts at certain times. Sullivan Park also has a softball field and sand volleyball court in which leagues have priority, as well as, numerous marked Healthy Heart walking trails. Chapman Park 1463 Route 31, Bridgeport, NY Open daily from 9 am to 8 pm. Rest rooms are available. Three pavilions are available by reservation from early May to early October. The dog park includes a large fenced in area divided into two sections where small and large dogs can be free to run safely off leash under the watchful eyes of their owners. Chapman Park is patrolled by the NYS Police and Madison County Sheriff Department. Our facilities are also monitored by our Park Personnel. There are three public tennis courts open during park hours. Leagues and lessons may limit the use of the courts at certain times. Chapman Park has 2 softball fields, a sand volleyball court & 4 soccer fields. Leagues have priority. There is also a onemile marked walking trail. 5 Town of Sullivan Hello everyone, I think spring is starting to arrive, although it doesn t seem like it with the chilly temperatures. A few things have changed since the last flyer. The Point Place Casino is up and running and has been a big plus for the Bridgeport area. What we need now is some spin off businesses to come to the area around the casino. New York State has passed the budget finally and again Madison County is getting the 2.25 million dollars for lost community benefits for slot gaming at the Yellow Brick Road Casino as well as Point Place. This number is about 25% of the state s 25% of slot gaming. The state gets no cut of table games at either casino. Madison County has given 25% of that money to the Town of Sullivan as well as the Village of Chittenango for lost community benefits. The Town will be paving around 350,000 dollars in parking lots as well as rehabbing the tennis courts at Sullivan Park at zero impact to the budget. The last time they were done is about 40 years ago, so they last. This work will be done though out the summer. On another note, Matt Paduano has opened his Lakeport Market. Matt lives in the Town of Sullivan and has chosen to invest in our community. Stop by to say hi to Matt and his family and get a cup of coffee. About half the sales tax that the Lakeport Market generates stays here in Madison County and the Town of Sullivan. The Town Board would also like to welcome Peter Bardou as our new Parks & Recreation Director. Pete is familiar with our programs and will make a great fit. Again, have a great spring! I can t express how excited I am to be welcomed back to this community; a community that embraces their Parks & Recreation Department! We have hit the ground running, as this spring/summer will be a busy time for the Parks & Recreation Department. Our lineup is extensive, and will bring a plethora of recreational opportunities to the town for all ages! Our curriculum will provide your child with an opportunity to design and build lots of different LEGO creations. The possibilities are limited only by their imagination. They work either individually or in groups and participate in challenges, group competitions as well as free build time towards the end of camp. Host a British LEGO Instructor, it s easy and fun! The instructors of your LEGO & Star Wars camp will stay with local families in your community for the duration of the camp week. This has become one of the most popular elements of the LEGO & Star Wars Camp Program.
