The use of the Advent Wreath with four candles has been an Advent ritual for hundreds of years. The Advent wreath is a symbol of the four-week wait for Jesus birth. The green branches remind us of the new life we have in Jesus, the circle represents the eternity of God s love for us (with no beginning and no end) and the candles represent the light and hope Jesus brings into a dark world. Set up an Advent wreath in the center of your dinner table and a candle for each week of the Advent season. Advent Prayer Loving God, help us to wait with patience and anticipation, to not be caught up in the rush of the season, but resting in your ever-present love. Amen.

4 Partnered Parish News Share the Word Bible Study Share the Word, a Bible Study for adults, resumes on Monday, December 11, from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM in the St. Francis Room. Gain a greater understanding of Scripture as we read and discuss the coming Sunday readings. Come every week or when you are able. All are welcome! St. Joseph St. Vincent de Paul Society The next meeting of the St. Joseph St. Vincent de Paul Society will be held on Tuesday, December 12, at 2:00 PM, in the Conference Room. In conjunction with the United States Marine Corps Reserve, St. Joseph and St. Mary Churches are collecting new, unwrapped toys. Boxes will be located in the churches and the parish offices.
