3 WELCOME TO THE 29TH ANNUAL LANCASTER SENIOR GAMES! Since starting in 1989, thousands of athletes have participated in the Games, with an average of 850 people each year. We are glad that you have joined us! The committee hopes you enjoy the sports, competition, and socialization of the Lancaster Senior Games (May 1 5, 2017), at Spooky Nook Sports Complex. REGISTRATION If you are a Lancaster County resident, age 55 or older, you are invited to participate in the Games. Your registration fee of $10, due by March 31, enables you to compete in an unlimited number of events. Late registrations will be accepted until April 14, if space permits. The late registration fee is $15. A registration form can be found on page 15. Send your entire completed registration form and registration fee to Lancaster County Office of Aging, 150 North Queen Street, Lancaster, PA OR drop off your form at Groff Funeral and Cremation Services, 528 West Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17603, Monday Friday, 9 a.m. 4:30 p.m. No credit cards will be accepted at either location and exact cash or check is required. Couples may send one check (payable to Lancaster County Office of Aging). T-SHIRTS Want your t-shirt before the Games? Drop off your completed registration form and pick up your t-shirt at Groff Funeral & Cremation Services, Monday Friday, 9 a.m. 4:30 p.m. The size you mark on your registration form will be the t-shirt size that you receive. No exchanges. RELEASE & WAIVER You must sign the release and waiver of liability located on the back of your registration form in order to participate. Registrations are due by March 31st AGE DIVISIONS Age divisions are 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95 and over. The age division of partners is based on age of younger participant. Players may only play in one age category. PARTICIPATION & CANCELLATION The event coordinators reserve the right to cancel events due to inclement weather or to consolidate age divisions for competition based on insufficient entries. Participants must check in at events at least 15 minutes prior to start time with the exception of Drop-In events. 3

BENCH PRESS Bar must touch chest and wait for press command. Participants must weigh in. Winner will be determined on a pound by pound basis, within your age NEW DAY group. (weight lifted divided by body weight.) Best lift of 3 lifts, weight decided by participant. Location: Sport Court 3 DEAD LIFT The deadlift is a full body exercise, and when it is performed properly it can have a huge carry-over DEMO to everyday life. Former international Olympic and power lifter Russ McDonnell and his team of volunteers will be providing instruction and demonstrations on how to perform this functional exercise. I have prepared myself for the event(s) which I have entered by practicing prior to these Senior Games. I am participating in these events voluntarily and at my own risk; I agree not to sue the Lancaster County Office of Aging and any other co-sponsoring organizations or any other representatives for any injuries or other damages to me resulting from my participation in the Lancaster Senior Games to be held May 1 5, 2017 at the aforementioned locations. I execute this release in consideration for the sponsoring of these Senior Games by the Lancaster County Office of Aging and any other co-sponsoring organizations. If a lawsuit is initiated on my behalf against the Lancaster County Office of Aging or any other co-sponsoring organization and it results in a monetary award of damages to me or any other person or legal entity, I agree to reimburse the Lancaster County Office of Aging or any other co-sponsoring organizations for any moneys required to be paid by them. The Lancaster County Office of Aging has my permission to have a physician attend to me if it is deemed necessary for my health, welfare and safety. I acknowledge that I was, prior to the date of the release, advised that the Lancaster County Office of Aging strongly recommends that each participant consult his/her doctor in regard to practice, preparation and competition in this program or any similar activity. This is requested in order to prevent traffic congestion and parking problems at the school. Thank you.
