2 Year 10 Work Experience Monday 16th- Friday 20 th July 2018 General information: As part of developing your employability skills we are reintroducing a placement of work experience. This placement is designed to give you a taste of a working environment. Ideally it should be in an area of interest for your future career path, however the main purposes are to increase selfconfidence, learn valuable employability skills and communication. Therefore we are happy for this placement to be with family members or friends. The only stipulation is that all placements must be unpaid and completed during the week advertised. This booklet is designed to give you suggestions regarding the types of placement you might be able to attend. Each student will have the opportunity to organise their own placement with help from Mrs Vernon. We are also asking for the support and guidance of you as parents and careers to help provide some amazing opportunities to your son/daughter. Confirmation will be required from all placements to enable to correct checks to be carried out and in place before you attend. Deadlines for these will be the following: April All students to have confirmed with Mrs Vernon of their intended placement choice. April 2018 Mock Interview in school as part of the process (speak to Mrs Vernon for more information) May 2018 All work place checklists to have been returned to Mrs Vernon May All parental disclaimers to have been returned to Mrs Vernon June/July - Pre placement interviews carried out as required July 2018 Final checks confirmed
