Some of our relatives and friends can no longer share the joys of the season with us, but are still very much a part of our memories at Christmas time. We are accepting donations for our sanctuary flowers that will decorate our church during the holidays in memory of those who have died. You may give whatever you choose. As our Holy Father, Pope Francis said, It is essential to draw near to new forms of poverty and vulnerability, in which we are called to recognize the suffering Christ, even if this appears to bring us no tangible and immediate benefits. I think of the homeless, the addicted, refugees, indigenous peoples, the elderly who are increasingly isolated and abandoned, and many others. These are served by Catholic Charities every day. The need is growing, and it is through you that Catholic Charities exists to be the charitable arms of the Church through the agency s programs and services. Catholic Charities mission is to serve those in need as Christ would have us do. As you go through this Christmas season, please consider making a financial contribution to help Catholic Charities continue to serve vulnerable populations that others may turn away.
