2 Swimming Pool The lawn of Karachi Annexe experienced an Enchanting saga like of an event on the eve of 14th October, After a lapse of 16 years, the Convener Swimming Pool, Mr. Muhammad Imran Razzak decided to host the prestigious event of 26th Palmolive Sindh Women Swimming Championship, at Karachi Swimming Facilities and for the first time ever at Karachi Annexe. It was thoroughly deliberated at the sub-committee meetings and eventually our respectable member Mrs. Sumbul Sadiq who is also part of our extended swimming pool sub-committee, was contacted and made known about the convener s intentions. Mrs. Sadiq assured about her full support on the matter. She being Vice President at Karachi Women Swimming Association, (KWSA) started lobbying at her end, and on the other hand our convener started off to pave the way at home to launch a mega event. So to start with, an advisory committee from among the sub-committee was formed specifically for this event. The paper work ensued at both the ends and after a volley of applications, letters, replies, survey by KWSA committee members at the Annexe and confirmations, it was decided that the cited championship shall take place on the mentioned dates at Karachi Annexe. Our Convener thereof took the task of revamping the entire pool facility at the Annexe, which also included standardizing the pool itself. On the other hand, He appointed Mrs. Faiza Imran as coordinator to liaison between the Karachi and KWSA and Mrs. Ambreen Moosa as the Manager of Karachi Girls team. The usual procedure of trials and selection of team and its training continued under their supervision. Man meetings were held between KWSA and the KC team at Annexe headed by our Convener, supported by Mrs. Faiza Imran to iron out the pending issues. Eventually, the much awaited day arrived. It was a two day thrilling and power packed competitive session wherein around 270 participants from all the swimming units of Sindh participated.
