5 The Institute of Export & International Trade 'Doing Business Guides' are designed to advise and assist UK companies when looking to trade with and invest in opportunityrich overseas markets. With over 20 new guides set to be launched in 2018, the Institute will be supporting a handful of these with exclusive launch events in collaboration with the relevant country s Embassy. The Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Dr Andrew Parmley was able to attend the graduation ceremony in 2017, welcoming students and guests into his official residence, Mansion House, and congratulating our students on their huge success. 13 Feedback from 2017 Queen s Awards winners : After having had the honour to discuss Merci Maman s export strategy with Her Majesty The Queen in July, it was a great honour to meet HRH The Princess Royal at the Queen s Awards Gala Dinner organised by the Institute of Export. We celebrated successes and got the chance to network with likeminded British brands. 18 The Institute regularly surveys members to inform and influence government and civil servants. One year on from the UK s referendum vote to leave the EU, plenty had happened. We went back to our members and fellow exporters to track their views, attitudes and desires around Brexit, with our Brexit One Year On survey. The Export Optimism survey invited members, established exporters and importers and trade association members to take part in a questionnaire about their optimism for global trade opportunities.
