3 MMYL (Maatalous-MetsäYlioppilaiden Liitto) You are part of MMYL MMYL is an association formed and run by students and student organizations represent s all students in agriculture and forest department. So basicly: when you start studies in the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry you re already under the wings of MMYL.

5 Why do we have MMYL? Mmyl ry is the umbrella organization for the Agriculture and Forestry Faculty s student organizations. Mmyl looks after the best interests of the faculty s students lobbying in the university s administration. participates actively in student life by organizing events parties, hangouts, meetings sports (University floorball league, summer sports, Nordic games, etc international action. Mmyl s main goal is to bring the students together and improve student life works closely together with other student organizations

7 Student Life 2 Student organizations are groups of students formed around the same major or same interest (theater, biking, singing, assassin association, etc.). No limits - borders of organizations are never that strict Sometimes there is a participation fee, usually not. It s recommended to join a student organization. (To get all the fun out of student life! :D ) Or at least participate on the activities, excursions or other events they organize. MMYL has 11 organizations (see next slide) They all have different color overalls to represent the organization.

9 Viikki International It s us. International students (exchange and degree), tutors, international representatives, anybody interested in improving integration of foreign students into Finnish student life The goal: to improve international student life in Viikki. Students organize events together Parties, Gatherings, Excursions Students discuss matters together Opinions & Experiences Suggestions for improvement On facebook (and on English mailing lists) about 4 face-to-face meetings per year.
