There s also great contests happening such as the Poster Contest, Written Communications Contest, and the County Speech/Demos contest. Family, Friends and Food Club The next meeting will be Tuesday, February 28th at 4:30 p.m. (ct) in the Extension Office Basement. 4-H Photography Club The Photography Club meeting is Wednesday, February 8th at 4:30 p.m. (ct) in the Extension Office Basement. 4-H Puppy Pals Puppy Pals will meet on Thursday, February 2nd, 16th, and 23rd at 6 p.m. (ct) at Lazy Jim Day Dog Training Facility (6396 West Hwy 60 Hardinsburg, KY 40143). The club will meet Thursday, February 9th for a club meeting at the Farmer s Market & Educational Facility at 6 p.m. (ct). Members will be visiting the nursing home at 1 p.m. (ct) on Sunday, February 26th. Youth Livestock Club Members The next club meeting will be Wednesday, February 8th at 6 p.m. (ct) in the Extension Farmers Market & Educational Facility. Bug Club The next club meeting will be Tuesday, February 14th from 4 to 6 p.m. (ct) in the Extension Office Basement Kitchen. Poultry Club The next club meeting will be Tuesday, February 14th at 6 p.m. (ct) in the Extension Farmers Market & Educational Facility. Like us on Facebook! Rabbit Club The next club meeting Monday, February 20th at 6 p.m. (ct) in the Extension Farmers Market & Educational Facility. 4-H Wranglers Horse Club Horse Club s next meeting is Thursday, February 2nd at 6 p.m. (ct) in the Extension Farmers Market & Educational Facility. BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL 4-H Outdoor Adventurers/Science Club The club will meet on Tuesday, February 7th from 3 to 4 p.m. (ct) in room 307 at the Breckinridge County Middle School. There has been a fieldtrip to UK tentatively scheduled for Monday, February 20. Permission slips will be going out toward the end of January. Space is limited to 30 seats.

3 4-H Poster Contest WHAT DOES 4-H MEAN TO YOU? This is the theme for this year s District 5 4-H poster contest. It is time to get busy creating your poster! Here are the rules: Deadline to Submit poster: March 3, 2017 RULES: 1. Poster must have 4-H in the title and it should display what 4-H means to the 4-H er or what 4-H provides for boys and girls. 2. Age categories are Grades 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Copyrighted characters cannot be used, such as, Peanuts, Charlie Brown, and Mickey Mouse. Digitally designed art is accepted, but must be the original work of the 4-H er. 4. Posters must be designed on poster board 14 X 22 (1/2 of a regular poster board.) Posters may be produced by any medium, such as, water color, ink, crayon, pencil, paint, but cannot be three dimensional. 5. All posters must have a completed title form. Affix the form on upper left hand corner of the back of the poster. Forms are available at the office. 6. NO sharing posters. Posters are individual. Teen Corner Teen Club & Marketing Committee Teen Club will meet Saturday, February 25th at 1 p.m. (ct) in the Extension Office Basement Kitchen. Invite your friends! The Marketing Committee will meet during the Teen Club meeting. Teen Leadership Academy Teen Leadership Academy will meet Wednesday, February 22nd in the Breckinridge County Extension Office at 7 a.m. (ct). The topic for the day is Leadership in Government. Career Club Career Club will meet Thursday, February 2nd at 6:30 a.m. (ct) in the Extension Office. NOTE: Club members are reminded to dress professionally as they will be visiting with community leaders. District 5 Teen Council The next District 5 Teen Council meeting will be a lock-in at the Nelson County Extension Office from February 24th 25th. To register for the lock-in please contact the Extension Office no later than February 10th.

4 4-H Trivia Question: This month s trivia question is for all 4-H Photography Club members. How do you keep a portrait in focus and interesting? Answer will be in the next newsletter. Answer to the previous trivia question: The major ingredients to cure country hams are salt, sugar, and spices. Parents Corner Breckinridge County Sewing Circle The sewing circle meets the second Tuesday of each month from 9 a.m. (ct) to noon in the Extension Office Basement. Paper Crafters Scrapbooking Group The Paper Crafters will be meeting on Tuesday, February 21st at 6 p.m. (ct) in the Extension Office Basement.
