2 Purpose of this role To ensure appropriate, safe, timely care clinical management and coordination of women referred to the gynaecology and colposcopy service in accordance with the NCSP Policy & Quality Standards. 4 Domain Two Clinical Nurse Specialist / Nurse Practitioner Management of nursing care at advanced practice level Includes accountability related to patient/client assessment and management of advanced nursing care that is supported by evidence Clinical Care/Care Coordination Provide appropriate and timely information, education, and support as required for women Support to women and their family/whanau is provided in an empathetic manner. Education and information is provided in a manner that facilitates informed decision making. Education and information activities that promote awareness of psychological issues of concern to women participating cervical screening / colposcopy. Identifies / removes barriers for women in regards to attendance utilising appropriate support services. Manages the support to services referrals for Maori and Pacific women prior to first colposcopy appointment and following non-attendance, monitors outcomes. Completion of clinical database activities related to colposcopy clinics To ensure Colposcopy / Gynaecology care expertise and adherence to quality standards is evident within the service Understanding of and commitment to meeting the NCSP Colposcopy Service Policy & Quality Standards) is demonstrated. Regular attendance at the Colposcopy team meetings. Training needs are identified and carried out as appropriate (e.g. attendance at Colposcopy Course to complete C-QUIP certification and 3 yearly attendances at a colposcopy conference). Commitment is required - studying towards completion of Masters in advanced nursing practice on a Nurse Practitioner Pathway to complete Nurse Practitioner endorsement. At least five years post registration contemporary nursing practice in women s health Achieved RN Level 4 or equivalent in specialty with current portfolio Clinical expert in women s health which can be across settings such as outpatient, acute or primary care. Reputation for excellence in clinical practice in women s health specialty Able to establish a robust unit quality management system setting, clinical standards and managing the implementation of these standards Current clinical leader/unit management in a women s health environment.
