2 Purpose of the role The scope of practice for registered midwives outlines that these professionals are responsible for the delivery of safe and effective perinatal care. Ensures the professional and political integrity of WDHB by carrying out all functions in compliance of the Treaty of Waitangi and by demonstrating a serious commitment to keeping the treaty alive.
