2 Professional Development Programs ACT-IAC provides the most valuable and highly respected professional development programs in the government IT community. The goal of these programs is to foster collaboration and communication between government and industry. 2
3 Associates Program Expand skills to establish a personal brand Cultivate a peer network through collaboration with classmates Learn to lead, and when to follow Develop professional and career skills Gain an understanding of the culture of government and industry organizations Improve communication abilities Receive up to 2 CEUs 3
4 Associates Program Criteria Up to 5 years professional experience GS 7-11 Can dedicate 3-4 hours per month to class sessions, outside of work hours (February-November) Must be sponsored by an executive within his or her organization Have a strong desire for experience beyond his or her core field Tuition ( ): $1,
5 Voyagers Program Collaborate in a 1:1 government to industry setting Engage in not for attribution discussions Establish and refine your leadership style Learn from key opinion leaders Refine your business and communication skills Composed of 24 members (12 gov t and 12 industry) Graduation at Management of Change Conference (MOC) Receive up to 4 CEUs 5
6 Voyagers Program Criteria 6-12 years of professional experience GS or newly-promoted GS-14s Willing to dedicate one or two days per month for between (September-May) Exhibit strong leadership skills Volunteered in ACT-IAC, other associations, or non-profit organizations Only one person per company (industry) will be accepted Tuition GOVT: $4, INDUSTRY: $5,
7 Partners Program Build executive-level leadership skills Prepare for roles at SES and company officer levels Identify real-time solutions for workplace challenges Collaborate in a 1:1 government to industry setting Increase understanding of other agencies and industry operations Run by senior government and industry professionals Composed of 32 members (16 gov t and 16 industry) Graduation at Executive Leadership Conference (ELC) Receive up to 4 CEUs 7
8 Partners Program Criteria Government applicant: Senior federal employees (Grade 15 or a High Step 14) Identified as promotable to the SES ranks within the next 3-5 years Currently serving in leadership roles dealing with multiple processes and complex technologies Able to dedicate 8 hours per month (February and October) Must have been in Gov t for 3 yrs (if coming from Ind) Tuition 2013: $4, Tuition 2014: TBD 8
9 Partners Program Criteria Industry applicant: 15+ years of progressively responsible positions Promotable to senior levels within the next 3-5 years Currently serving as a leader in the government technology community Able to dedicate 8 hours per month (February-October) Must have been in Industry for 3 yrs (if coming from Gov t) Tuition (2013): $4, Tuition 2014: TBD 9
10 ACT-IAC Fellows Alumni association for those who have completed the Partners or Voyagers programs as either a class member or as a leader One of the most active and engaged group of alums in the our community Over 700 Fellows (half government/half industry) Regular professional and social events Run by dedicated group of volunteers Way to stay involved after graduation (leadership opportunities) 10
11 Champions Program The Champions program will offer executive-level development to SES and C-Suite individuals. Focus on core executive skills and coaching Build cohort relationships Mentor Voyagers class participants Collaborate with peers on current government IT issues Assume leadership roles in the ACT-IAC community 11
