2 What is this? Youth Advolution for Health (YAH) Competition 2012 is organized by the Health Promotion (HPB) to engage youths to conceptualize, implement and evaluate an integrated marketing and communications project on pertinent youth health issues. 3 categories for Project Prodigy: Full-time students from Institutes of Technical Education (ITE) Full-time students from Polytechnics Full-time students from public and private Universities

3 What is Project Prodigy? To create a ground-up movement that harnesses and showcases the creative thinking of our youth to achieve an empowered and healthy nation To enhance our youths entrepreneurship and leadership qualities

4 Who is eligible? All full-time students aged between 17 and 25 years currently enrolled in any Institutes of Technical Education (ITE), Polytechnics, public and private Universities in Singapore. Maximum of 5 students per team All team members must be from the same educational institution

5 What is the task? To create, and if shortlisted, to implement an integrated marketing and communications project on pertinent youth health issues. Teams can identify at most 2 pertinent youth health issues to work on. The topics are: Healthy Weight Management Tobacco Control Sexuality Education (STIs/ HIV prevention) Alcohol Education Mental Wellness

6 The teams may propose a plan to reach out to their peers in school, in youth organisations, those in other educational institutions or youth groups outside of school Teams whose projects are shortlisted will be guided and provided with funding to implement their activities, in the campuses or within the community settings.

7 Key timings Registration Wed 29 Aug to Fri 28 Sept Mission briefing Sat 13 Oct/20 Oct An intense day where participants will be given a context to work within by category experts and for the teams to pick their youth health topic and start their planning. Teams will be assigned their mentors at the end of the briefing Incubation Mon 22 Oct to Fri 9 Nov All project proposals to be submitted by 9 Nov (fri). Proposals will be returned to the shortlisted teams with comments from the judging committee Implementation Late-Nov to end Feb Over 2 months their proposed programme will be implemented. It is important their approved KPIs are met or exceeded. Their final report needs to be submitted for judging Judging Late March (date and venue to be confirmed) Top 5 teams will present to judging panel and live audience their program and achievements. Results will be announced on the same day

8 Final Report All shortlisted teams will have to submit their reports within 2 weeks after the implementation. Teams that submit reports after 12 March will be disqualified from the Finals. The report will need to cover the following: Overall objectives and KPIs Activities conducted Objectives of these activities Number of participants reached Achievement of KPIs (relevant stats, feedback from peers etc) What worked and what didn t and what they have learnt Relevant photos, video footage The report may be submitted in any way the team deems effective and engaging in delivering the success of their proposal

9 How will they be judged? The shortlisted teams will present their integrated marketing and communications plan, including results of the implementation, to a panel of 3 to 5 judges made up of health content and marketing experts. 10 Teams will be judged on: 1. Program concept 2. Activities How interesting it was How well it was executed 3. Reports from spots checks 4. Achievement of KPIs

10 What do they win? Top 3 entries for each Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) category. 1st Prize: $5000 2nd Prize: $4000 3rd Prize: $3000

11 How to register? All teams can register online Have the names and IC numbers of their team members ready and a name for their team. They must all be from the same educational institution.
