Cavan Monaghan Transport Coordination Unit Ltd have requested that Monaghan PPN elect 3 community reps (1 from each Municipal District). If you are interested in being a part of decision making about local transport issues and your group is registered with the PPN then come to the meeting in your municipal district as follows: Tuesday 7th June 8pm Ballybay Wetlands Centre (Ballybay/Clones MD) Thursday 9th June 8pm YWCA Hall, North Road, Monaghan (Monaghan MD) *Carrickmacross/Castleblayney MD meeting held Thursday 2nd June.* If we have more than one nomination at the meeting we will hold an Election. Each representative elected will represent all of the community and report back to our Reps Linkage Network. The theme of our meeting is Come and meet your community rep. Monaghan PPN have many reps who sit on very important County Council committees. This will be an excellent opportunity to come and chat with them about local policy issues. They then can feedback your views to their respective committees. Food will be served and we will have entertainment provided by our newly crowned Irish Dancing World Champion Orna Colton and other dancers from Scoil Rince Ni Bhrogain. 2 Date: 3rd June 2016 Issue: No. 10 Prepared By: Leona Keenan Monaghan Peace IV Partnership Board Monaghan Local Community Development Committee are seeking to appoint 2 new board members to sit on its Peace IV Partnership Board. Board members will be expected to attend four board meetings per year, and also participate in any Peace and Reconciliation training and development sessions designed for board members. The role is an unpaid voluntary position, but reasonable travel expenses will be paid. We are seeking to appoint 2 individuals who will; Represent the Minority Faith sector in County Monaghan. Have an understanding of Peace and Reconciliation issues. Would be willing to support Peace and Reconciliation activities across the County. Are able to operate as part of a team. If you are interested in this, please apply in writing to Nicola Payne, Peace Programme Manager, Monaghan County Council, The Glen, Monaghan, no later than 17 th June Please detail the organisation/ sector that you represent and why you are interested in the role. 3 COMMUNITY NEWS & EVENTS River Trust Talk You are invited to attend a talk by Mark Horton, All-Ireland Development Officer for Rivers Trust at the Castleblayney Enterprise Centre, Dublin Road on Friday June 3 rd at 7pm. This talk should be of interest to a number of active angling and community groups along the River Fane - a river catchment that covers an area from Mullyash, Annyalla, Oram, Castleblayney, Crossmaglen, Cullaville, Broomfield, Inniskeen, Knockbridge and on to the sea south of Dundalk. Lough Muckno is the largest lake on this system This meeting is supported by Monaghan County Council s Environment Section and the newly formed Local Authority Waters and Communities Office (LAWCO). Clones Town F.C. & Eire Og GAA are running a fund raiser match for Matty Mc Elvaney who was involved in a terrible accident resulting in 3rd degree burns to his lower body.
