The Winter Haven community created the Council on Quality Aging to promote awareness of aging issues and create partnerships and strategies to resolve those issues. The Council is a collaboration of city employees, private businesses and not-for-profit organizations working together on areas of need for our local seniors. Through the work of the Council on Quality Aging, Winter Haven is proud to have joined the WHO/AARP Network of Age Friendly Communities. This is a 3-5 year process to assess, plan and implement steps to make Winter Haven a community that welcomes and appropriately accommodates older generations. The first step is to assess Winter Haven s current status of Age Friendliness, and we need your help to establish that baseline. If you are 50 years or older and live in the Winter Haven area, your answers will help make our community as Age Friendly as possible.
