4 PROGRAMS OPENING SESSION: NASHVILLE SONGWRITING Pick up our panelists by the ankles and you ll shake out a Grammy, several Emmys, a few CMA and ACM Song Of The Years, one of the most played country songs in history and a Hall of Fame Induction. Victoria Shaw, Jim Photoglo, Don Henry, and Gary Burr will write a song using the audience s ideas and words, letting them experience the actual give and take world of songwriting. MAKING PRODUCTIVITY GREAT AGAIN - A LEANISH APPROACH Presented by Matt Stevens, Ph.D. The best way for a union contractor to be more cost effective is to make labor more productive. We will explore common assumptions and use available information including our industry data to provide useful insights on increasing productivity in specialty contracting firms. How many people actually achieve that? This session will examine the factors that channel our lives, often without our realizing it. We will examine gender, age, ambition factors and company cultures as well as how to create a realistic plan that fits you and your life goals. LEADERSHIP: THE MISSING LINK Presented by David A. Anderson Learn what leadership really is, how and why every organization needs leaders, and why so many of us neglect it. We will discuss the various levels of leadership, talk about the characteristics that make a great leader, and discover where you are as a leader. Leaders are everywhere: in the boardroom, the manager s office, and in the field. We will explore how to acquire the skills to be a GREAT LEADER in any role. This will be an informative, interactive, and fun presentation that will challenge your beliefs and inspire you to achieve greatness! 5

ANDERSON As a visionary leader, critical thinker and team builder, David has successfully served as CEO and other senior management positions, always being recognized for his deep understanding of each organization and the people who make it run. As a Certified Coach, Trainer and Speaker, David is noted for his ability to combine leadership development with practical insight and experiential learning that inspires transformation and produces results. Speaking internationally for over 20 years, David is an engaging and motivating speaker who is passionate about leadership. MATT STEVENS, PH.D. As an owner and management advisor with Stevens-Day Construction Institute, Inc., Matt has been advising since 1994, and his industry experience spans over 40 years. He has presented to more than 600 audiences and engaged over 100 contractors. Matt received his Doctorate from the University of Florida s M.E. Rinker Sr. School of Construction Management. He authored two industry books, Managing a Construction Firm on Just 24 Hours a Day and The Construction MBA published by McGraw-Hill. Matt s advising work focuses on Organizational Development, Strategic Planning, Business Evaluations, and Organizational Productivity. 6

For nearly 125 years the Ryman has been serving up historically cool entertainment experiences for Nashvillians and visitors alike. Cafe Lula expands the Ryman s offerings with a menu of noteworthy Nashville-centric food and drink. After our meal we will take a guided tour through the dressing rooms dedicated to the stars of the Ryman s rich musical past, including Minnie Pearl, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams. REGISTRATION FEES The registration fee for the conference includes the cost of all educational sessions, hospitality, meeting materials, programs, receptions and group functions for you and your spouse/guest. 8/1-9/1/17 9/2-10/1/17 Individual $495 $650 Individual + Guest $895 $995 Registration fees do not cover lodging, air transportation, baggage fees, rental cars, meals other than scheduled group functions, incidental expenses, or extended stays. REFUNDS Full refunds may be obtained after the conference if MCA is notified of your cancellation before September 5, After that date, a refund will only be made if MCA has not guaranteed services on your behalf.
