3 Highlights State Fair Highlights Fina Choat Champion Elite Showman (high individual in wri en test and sheep showman). Congratula ons to the Boone County Senior Hor culture Judging Team, Reserve Champion. Emma Ketelsen was 5th high overall individual in the senior division. Emma and Elizabeth will be traveling to Indiana in early October to compete in the Na onal 4 H Hor culture Judging Contest. Champion 4 H Market Heifer and Reserve Supreme Champion 4 H Market Heifer: Kolton Rasmussen Supreme Champion 4 H Doe and Reserve Supreme Champion 4 H Doe: Taya Hambleton Loup Valley Challenge Highlights Congratula ons to the following exhibitors who par cipated in the Loup Valley Challenge: Alex Christo exhibited the Champion Feeder Steer and the Reserve Supreme Beef animal, and Reserve Champion Breeding Heifer. Connor Christo exhibited the 3rd place overall meat goat. 3

Here is the link to our website: h ps://smile.amazon.com/ch/ Ways to Give Back Adopted Classroom in Houston Texas When Hurricane Harvey hit Houston on August 25, classrooms had been prepared for the school year at Braeburn elementary school. The hurricane le the school a mess a er 4 5 feet of water stood in the halls and classrooms for a week. Through a social media post, Sonya was connected with Miss Lindsay Duprey who teaches first grade reading at the Houston school. Miss Duprey lost everything in her classroom and the school had to move to a new loca on. The past few weeks, many people donated school supplies that we shipped for her students to use. New bulle n board decora ons were sent for her to decorate her classroom. Thank you for your generosity! The second phase of our dona ons will be collec ng money to purchase Amazon gi cards so she can purchase new books. Dona ons can be dropped off at both extension offices. Celebrate 4 H Week in Style! T Shirt Tuesday Wear your green 4 H shirt on Tuesday, October 3rd, to school and show your 4 H pride. Post a picture to social media before you head off to school and say what you love about 4 H! Be sure to tag Boone Nance Extension and #BN4H 4 H ROCKS! The Kindness Rocks project began with one woman dropping painted rocks with inspira onal messages along the beach where she walked. Her goal was to leave hopeful and encouraging thoughts for others who need a kind word to brighten their day. Anyone wishing to spread a li le joy and inspira on in the community is invited to come and paint Kindness Rocks. When you re done, you ll take your rock with you un l you find the perfect place to set it free. Visit or call for more informa on. 13 th Annual Troy Hansen 4 H Spor ng Clays Shoot The 13 th Annual 4 H Founda on Charity Shoot will be held Thursday, September 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Oak Creek Shoo ng Club in Brainard. The charity shoot is a way to raise money for the Nebraska 4 H Founda on in support of 4 H Clubs and Camps in Nebraska. Please consider par cipa ng or being an event sponsor. Funds that are raised provide opportuni es for 4 H youth throughout Nebraska. All funds raised stay in Nebraska and are used to support the 4 H clubs and camps that make 4 H a meaningful and memorable experience.
