6 An Important Note from Tim The Junior High Revela on Tour con nues to amaze me. How do we put together such wonderful performances demanding so much rehearsal me and energy during the busy summer? How do we grow so close together and remain such a diverse group of individuals? How does simple music on a page become so alive and vibrant when Revela on sings it on Tour? Summer Choir Tour is all about the transforma on we achieve in ge ng beyond ourselves when the collec ve is so much greater than the sum of the individuals. Rehearsals are important if we are to con nually progress as a group toward quality performances. Rehearsals keep individuals progressing at the same speed and leave no one lagging behind. Rehearsals give us an opportunity to get to know each other and bond as a group before the buses depart. On Sunday, June 4th, you will be asked to sign an A endance Contract. It will state that you intend to par cipate in a minimum of 75% of Tour rehearsals and 9:00 worship services, which translates into 16 of the 21 dates. A endance will be taken at each gathering. If you fear going below the minimum, you may send a wri en excuse to me with a parent s signature on those days when your schedule does not allow for your a endance. I will not ques on your reason. If you find the absence appropriate, and your folks support you, so do I. This is an effort to reduce careless absences and Sunday morning sleep-ins. If for some reason you know in advance that you will not be able to make this standard, even with wri en excuses, let me know in advance. If you fail to reach the expecta on, and you do not talk to me, if will be necessary for us to have a discussion regarding your level of commitment and your par cipa on in Tour. Please know that this a endance requirement is meant to raise awareness and call all of us to a higher level of commitment to our Church. ~ Timothy A endance Recogni on Any choir member in the top 10% of a ending rehearsals and performances will receive a personalized engraved hymnal. If you already have an engraved hymnal, you may return it to Tim to have the Bishop autograph it. If you already have the Bishop s autograph, there will be another surprise awai ng you when you achieve this goal. Facebook Informa on We will post our progress during Tour with notes and pictures on the Facebook group: CRUMC Jr. High Revelation Choir Tour 2017 This is a closed group, but as a parent of a participant, you are welcome to join. If you are already a Facebook user, simply log on and search for the above-named group. Then ask to join. The administrator will be notified, and you will be accepted. Then you can follow the Tour s progress. If you are not a Facebook user, but would like to join the group, you must first create a Facebook account. Log on to and follow these steps: Enter your full name Enter your address Enter a password Enter your gender Enter your birthdate An account will be created for you, at which time you can follow the steps above and ask to join the group.
