3 MED SECURITY SUMMIT 2015 The first edition of this unique, international event, this year hosted within the context of the Genoa Shipping Week. Scientific advisory: Maritime Security Review Held as part of the Genoa Shipping Week, the inaugural edition of the Med Security Summit will bring together a series of experts to examine and discuss the problems particular to shipping and maritime security in the Mediterranean. This unique two day event will take a holistic approach to examining the critical issues that distinguish a series of problems particular to the Mediterranean and those countries bordering it. While focused on the Mediterranean, the conference will, however, examine the overall international picture and how global events have an impact on maritime security in the Mediterranean. During the two full days of activities, focus will be placed on subject areas as diverse as port and cruise liner security, human and narcotic trafficking, future challenges, and maritime terrorism. Each of the eight sessions will examine critical issues through panel discussions and direct interaction with attendees through open debate and question and answer sessions. Experts and speakers have been invited from a wide variety of professional sectors in order to foster the concept of taking a holistic approach to examining current and future risks to maritime security in the Mediterranean area. Over the two days panelists at the Med Security Summit will discuss risks and solutions with the objective of identifying critical issues and follow-up items. The objective is to create a framework and basis of continuity that will allow further debate and examination of those issues identified as being particularly critical.

Giorgio First Session (9AM 11AM) Holistic Approach to Maritime Security The Holistic Approach is the overall theme to the summit, to this end the first session will focus on a definition of what Maritime Security actually is and on defining the relationships and interactions between stakeholders. Panelists will examine the current situation and discuss means of collaboration between stakeholders and changes in approach that will encourage greater efficiency.
