1 Survey For Use by Students Studying Abroad at Konan University Konan International Exchange Center Year-in-Japan study abroad students are able to apply for the following scholarships. All applicants will be informed regarding the result of their scholarship application once a final decision has been made, prior to the start of the program. If you would like to apply for the following scholarships, please read carefully the information given below regarding each scholarship, provide the required information, and submit a signed copy of this form. Type of Support Applicant Qualifications and Conditions (Essential Points Summary) 独立行政法人日本学生支援機構 (JASSO) 海外留学支援制度 ( 協定受入 ) JASSO : 80,000 JPY Per Month 1 Applicants possessing Japanese citizenship are not eligible. 2 Applicants must have a superior academic record at their current university and excellent character. Furthermore, the applicant s GPA from their most recent school term must be higher than 2.30 when calculated using 3.00 as the highest possible score (i.e. roughly higher than 3.00 on the 4.00 point system: see the JASSO GPA Evaluation Chart below). 3 Applicants must have a clear purpose and plan for studying in Japan and be able to benefit from the exchange experience. 4 Applicants must be in need of financial assistance due to economic reasons 5 Applicants will return to their current university and continue their studies, or will receive a degree from their current university, following completion of the study abroad program. It is therefore necessary for scholarship recipients to open a Japanese bank account without delay after arriving in Japan. While scholarship funds are generally disbursed by the end of the month, depending on circumstances related to the university and the organizations that provide scholarship funds, there are cases in which funds are disbursed the following month. [Every month]: For the funds to be dispensed, you are required to sign a form verifying your continued active participation in the program. (By the 15th of each month) [At the end of program]: You will be requested to write and submit a report(s) related to your study in Japan. (The type of report(s) varies depending on the type of scholarship) It is not possible to guarantee that those who extend the length of their program will also be able to extend their receipt of scholarship funds. You are not able to contact the organizations that provide scholarship funds directly. Any contact is to be made through KIEC. If you have any questions or inquiries regarding your scholarship, please consult KIEC staff. Any communication made directly to the organizations that provide scholarship funds will most likely be forwarded to KIEC staff. Your grades at Konan University will be disclosed to scholarship organizations after the program. I wish to apply for this scholarship.
