3 Page 3 PUBLIC IMAGE CORNER The month of June is typically when we install our new officers and boards of directors. Here are some ideas that may help your installation event go a little more smoothly: President Rotary International Sakuji Tanaka District Governor Art Peoples 30 Mapleseed Drive Dallas, PA Home: (570) Cell: (570) peoplesart1664@aol.com District Officers Irene Carey, DGE Carol Hemphill DGN If there is a microphone in the facility, use it. Everyone enjoys an event more when they can hear what is being said. If you are the master of ceremonies or the person in charge, write down your thoughts and the events or ideas you want to cover on index cards so you don t forget anything or anyone that you wish to thank or recognize. Remove the officers and directors pins from those little plastic boxes and pin them to index cards noting (in large letters) the name of the person who gets it and what their title is. If you wait until the pinning ceremony, it will take extra time to have them ready, and the lighting in most restaurants is dim, making it difficult for you to read them. You don t want people to leave with the wrong pin. District Treasurer Paul Conforti Newsletter Editor Sandy Peoples Administrative Assistant & Newsletter Publisher Brenda Allen Assistant Governor at Large Ray Petty (Trail) Assistant Governors by Cluster 1. Nancy Brittain (Sayre) Athens, Sayre, Towanda, Troy, Wellsboro. 2. Al Noble (Tunkhannock), Forest City, Montrose, New Milford, Trail, Mid Valley, Tunkhannock. 3. Robert Chavey (Newfoundland) Hamlin, Hawley, Honesdale, Lords Valley, Milford-Matamoras, Newfoundland. 4. John Davis (Mount Pocono) Mt. Pocono, Pocono Mountains, The Smithfields, The Stroudsburgs, Top-O-Pocono, West End. 5. Barbara Belon (Lehighton) Freeland, Hazleton, Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Mountaintop, Weatherly. 6. Carol Hemphill (North Pocono) Dunmore, North Pocono, North Scranton, Scranton, The Abingtons. 7. Gerald Reisch (Dallas) Dallas, Kingston, Plymouth, Wilkes-Barre, The Greater Nanticoke Area, Pittston, Plains, Wyoming. And last, but certainly not least, ask your officers and board members to come up front to have their picture taken for the newspapers. Do this before you ring the bell to close the proceedings, because once you ve rung the bell, people scatter and you may not get them together again. Send the photo and caption (noting names and titles) to the local papers to remind the community that they have a thriving and active Rotary club in their community that is doing good things in the world. Also include your website address and/or a way to contact someone in your club (via or telephone), and don t be shy about asking folks to join your club. Good luck to all new and existing clubs, officers and boards for a great new year. All the best, Sandy Peoples District 7410 Public Image Chair The next edition of the District newsletter will be sent out on June 25th. Please have all photos and articles submitted by June 20. Thank you.
