1 First XI: Football Summary Football has always been played in a tournament format in Term Two. The eight schools are split into two groups of four before semi-finals and finals. Nationally Super 8 schools have been very competitive, regularly finishing in the Top five of the National tournament. Palmerston North Boys High School has been the standout Super 8 XI winning four National titles and the Super 8 tournament seven times. Steven Old (Palmerston North BHS) and Tony Lochead (Tauranga BC) are among the All Whites produced by the schools.
