Ayello, PhD, RN, ACNS-BC, CWON, ETN, MAPWCA, FAAN WCET Vice President, As we begin a brand new year filled with opportunity and the promise of an outstanding biennial congress, it is always great to reflect on where we have been. For me it is thinking about the many people in our fantastic specialty that truly change and enhance the quality of life for so many people around the world. Forged in the passion and determination of Norma Gill and crafted into a vibrant organization with members in over 60 countries, 2015 was indeed a busy year. In this issue of the WCET BullETin, you will find items written by individuals from 15 different countries. Our members in Brazil, China, Columbia, France, Iran, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Switzerland, Togo, and the USA, all share their achievements. Their stories are all different and as unique as each of the countries in which they live and practice; but what is common to all is their enthusiasm and the realization of the need for continuing their education. More importantly they then used their education to better meet the needs of patients with ostomies, wounds or incontinence and did something to improve patient care outcomes. For as Herbert Spencer said The great aim of education is not knowledge but action. I am sure you will agree with me how fortunate we are that our dedicated members are the reason WCET is a specialty of action. Happy What will you do this year? Please let us know. Ayello, PhD, RN, ACNS-BC, CWON, ETN, MAPWCA, FAAN WCET Vice Présidente, Thank you to Laurent Chabal for this French translation Comme nous allons commencer une toute nouvelle année remplie d opportunités, avec la promesse de la tenue d un extraordinaire congrès biennal, il est toujours bon de regarder dans le rétroviseur pour constater le trajet parcouru. Pour moi, cela consiste à penser à tous ces professionnels de notre magnifique spécialisation qui ont vraiment changé et amélioré la qualité de vie d un si grand nombre de personnes de part le Monde. Forgée par la passion et la détermination de Norma Gill et réunie dans une organisation dynamique qui regroupe des membres de plus de 60 pays, 2015 aura été effectivement une année bien remplie. Dans ce numéro du BullETin, vous découvrirez des thèmes envoyés par des personnes venant de 15 pays différents. Nos membres du Brésil, Chine, Colombie, France, Iran, Malaisie, Mexique, Norvège, Philippines, Pologne, Arabie Saoudite, Afrique du Sud, Suisse, Togo et Etat Unis d Amérique, ont tous partagés leurs réalisations. Même si leurs récits sont tous différents et aussi uniques que chacun des pays dans lesquels ils pratiquent, ces professionnels partagent tous le même enthousiasme et le désir de poursuivre leur formation continue. Plus important encore, ils ont mis à profil leurs formations au bénéfice des besoins des patients stomisés, porteurs de plaies et souffrants de troubles de continence. De plus, ils ont mis en place des actions d amélioration de la qualité des soins prodigués à ces patients. Comme le disait Herbert Spencer Le but ultime de l éducation n est pas la connaissance mais l action. Je suis sure que vous serez d accord avec moi pour dire combien nous sommes chanceux d avoir des membres dévoués, qui permettent au WCET d être une spécialité de l action. 3 WCET next conference: News for Cape Town Biennial Congress Beside the conference and its scientific programme, we will have social events that we would like to Highlight: The Opening Ceremony will now be combined with the Welcome Reception and opening of the Trade Exhibition, Auditorium 1 and Hall 1 and 2 on Sunday 13 March. The purpose of the opening ceremony is to introduce South Africa and Cape Town to the delegates in a visual way. This Ceremony will lead directly into the Welcome Reception and opening of the Trade Exhibition. The Welcome Reception will bring delegates together to experience the diverse cultures of Cape Town and South Africa, showcasing local food, culture and talent. This evening will give guests the opportunity to experience Cape Town at its best, while enjoying the smells and tastes of Cape Malay Cuisine, feeling the rhythm of traditional African drumming and getting to know why so many people love to call Cape Town their home. We would love to keep you dancing until the sun comes up, but there is a full work day waiting on Monday 14 March. On Tuesday 15 March, the Congress Dinner will be held in the glamorous Ballroom at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Guests will be treated to a formal sit down, three course meal with entertainment, dancing and a final opportunity to mingle among friends, both old and new. The Congress dinner is NOT included in the registration fee. You have to register for it separately. A small surcharge of R550 per person will be payable. Please note that there is a limit to the number of people that can be accommodated. 4 Dr. Karen Zulkowski receives the Sharon Baranoski Founder s Award Sharon Baranoski, MSN, RN, CWCN, APN-CCNS, FAAN, MAPWCA. Shorewood, Illinois, USA WCET Journal Executive Editor, Karen Zulkowski, DNS, RN who received the award in September 2015 The Sharon Baranoski Founder s Award was created in 1998 in honor of Sharon who pioneered the Clinical Symposium 0n Advances in Skin and Wound Care, an interdisciplinary wound care educational program who celebrated its 30th year in September This award recognizes the overall pursuit of excellence in the field of skin and wound care. Candidates have displayed excellence in one or all of the following areas: Innovative/creative approach to educating health care professionals on wound care Unique program, treatment or practice that significantly improved patient care Leadership style that has promoted personal and professional growth in the field of wound care. Dr. Zulkowski is best known for her tireless work in education, presentations, webinars, publications including the WCET International Ostomy Guideline, and the Pieper Zulkowski Pressure Ulcer Test. Congratulations Karen for this well-deserved honour. Meet some of the ID s Sandra Guerrero Gamboa, Nurse, ET, MsC, PhD. Profesor Asociado. WCET ID Colombia Starting from my training as a Enterostomal Therapist I put my knowledge to serve children and adolescents with wounds, ostomy and incontinence in the most important pediatric hospital in my country: Fundación hospital de la Misericordia. At this hospital, the Faculty of Nursing of the National University of Colombia, developed a solidarity extension project that provides a specialized care service and education to the pediatric population and their families. It also offers consulting and continuous education to colleagues and the medical team. Nursing students also benefit from having the opportunity to receive theoretical and practical knowledge about skin injury prevention and care of people with wounds or an ostomy These activities have evolved towards the creation of a research group and raising the motivation of our students about specialized training. With the support of Vera Lúcia Conceição de Gouveia Santos, seven of our students are having the opportunity to continue their education at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The work done in the last ten years has given visibility to children and adolescents who grow up with these health conditions and have attracted interest in the topic in academic events at the national level and in the countries of the region where we had the opportunity to share our work experience and research results. With Enterostomal therapists in Bogota we are consolidating the Colombian Association for the care of skin integrity and currently, under the leadership of Lupita Lobo from Mexico, we are working on the creation of a Latin American Association. 5 Setareh Azizi Elize, RN, ET, WCET ID Iran I am an ET Nurse and one of the WCET members in Iran. I have just became the new WCET ID from my country. I am 42 years old, from Tehran, Iran. I graduated from the nursing school with have bachelor degree in nursing and graduated in Tehran University of Medical Sciences in After a few years of working as a nurse, in 2002 I started to work as a scientific representative for the Coloplast Company in Iran, as a scientific representative and gradually became experienced in wound and stoma care. From that time, I decided to be an ET Nurse, but there were was no academic courses in Iran; therefore, and this intention decision remained a wish till Ms. Carmen George came to Iran in 2010 and held an academic training course. After graduating from this training, I was offered the position in Colorectal Research Center of Iran University of Medical Sciences as the chief nurse. After a while, I established a clinic for wound and stoma care in Rasool Hospital, affiliated with Iran University of Medical Sciences, under the supervision of Dr. B. Mahjoobi MD, a renowned colorectal surgeon. We have, so far, held many short time training courses in the field of wound and stoma care for nurses in this clinic and fortunately made a positive effect on the knowledge and attitude of nurses. In October 2015, we started to hold another academic course with Ms. Carmen George in Colorectal research center in Hazrat Rasool Hospital to train other ET Nurses. In Iran, there are more than 30,000 stoma patients and much more diabetic foot patients in Iran. As you know, ET-nurses have a suitable function for these patients, and then we are in dire need for trained ET-nurses for them as much as possible. In this recent training course, 20 nurses have been attending, and I hope they can pass it successfully. We are trying to share our experiences with the world and develop our knowledge and attitude in this way. Setareh and her class BullETin January

6 Grethe Folstad Lund, WCET ID Norway I work as a stoma care nurse at the Norwegian Radium Hospital, which is centrally located in Oslo, the capital of Norway. I have been certified as a stoma care nurse for about eight years. The Norwegian Radium Hospital is a pure cancer treatment and research center, and a part of Oslo University Hospital. Norwegian Radium Hospital In my daily work I meet a huge specter of stoma problems. The patient population include gastrointestinal as well as urological and gynecological cancers. Many patients have more than one stoma, and challenging post-radiation fistulas and skin problems are frequent. My colleague and I perform about 1000 consultations per year, in addition we do some teaching and external consultative work. I am proud of being a stoma care nurse, I really think that our work is of importance for a lot of patients. Magdalena Leyk, WCET ID Poland Warm greetings to all of you from GdańskJ I am the first ID from Poland. I am a nurse and my stoma story started in May 2005, during my second year of bachelor nursing study when I did a case study of a young man who had an ileostomy. After that I decided to do my bachelor thesis about support of stoma patients. In 2007 I got my dream job as a registered nurse in Department of General, Endocrine and Transplant Surgery in University Hospital of Gdańsk. I was continuing my study in Master Nursing and after that on PhD Studies of Medical University of Gdańsk but still I dreamed to become a stoma nurse. In most polish hospitals we don t have a stoma nurse vacancy. Stoma care is a part of Wound Nurse responsibilities. In March 2013 my dreams came true in General Surgery Out-patient Department we opened a consulting room for stoma patients and I became a stoma nurse in my hospital. Even though I only spend 2 hours per week there, my patients are very happy that I am there. I have not graduated from an ETNEP/REP yet but I participated in three 2 days courses organized by an Ostomy company. The beginning of my stoma job was very difficult but every day I was Iearning something new. I know that this is the best job for me and there is still a lot to do for Polish stoma patients and nurses. I am the first and the only one Polish member of WCET and I believe that in short time more Polish nurses will participate in WCET too. BullETin January

7 Louise Rafferty, WCET ID Saudi Arabia. I have worked at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the last 3 ½ years. I am originally from Wales, United Kingdom. I completed my BSN in 2010 and have worked in the fields of general surgery and critical care. I have been in the role of Colorectal Clinical Specialist for the last 2 years. The role includes working with stoma, wound and defecatory disorders patients. Saudi Arabia has a population of over 28 million people and colorectal cancer is the 2nd most common cancer overall King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center within the kingdom. With only 14 known certified Enterostomal Therapists to cater to this demographic, this leaves a great number of patients from all over the kingdom without the specialist support needed. Hence the great importance of promoting the specialty of Enterostomal Therapy to young Saudi nurses. Here at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center, Riyadh the Saudi Enterostomal Therapy Diploma Course continues to run and is recognised by the Saudi Commission of Health Specialties and the WCET. Our hope is to continue to graduate Saudi nurses and for the Enterostomal Therapy specialty within Saudi Arabia to grow thus concurrently improving services and reaching a greater number of the Saudi population. Karen Riesen, WCET ID Switzerland I ve been the Swiss International Delegate for about 2 years and I already introduced myself at the beginning of my mandate. Since then I attended the WCET Congress in Gothenburg. It was my first WCET congress. What a wonderful experience. I met different delegates & chatted particularly with those from South Korea, South Africa, Denmark, Indonesia & the UK. Got to know other people from all over the world. 8 I also participated in judging the posters. Some of them were excellent apart from ommitting to put a biography/ references. Unfortunately this loses you a lot of points. So if you are preparing a poster for Capetown do not forget the bibliograpy please and maybe you will win an award! I will hopefully see you in Cape Town for the WCET 2016 congress. Vincent Kokou KOUAMI, WCET ID Togo For the moment I am all busy on my study, here in Bamako and on the other hand preparing for my second module of the Kenyan Stoma Wound and Continence Nursing Education Program 2015 starting from August 24th. 9 World Ostomy Day 2015 Celebrations Yjuan (Julie) Weng, ET, Publications and Communication Committee Member and Li Juyun, ET, China The World Ostomy Day (WOD) is an event first sponsored by WCET in It is now celebrated every 3 years to raise awareness and understanding of life with an ostomy, and to enhance communications between patients and health care providers. On the 8th World Enterostomal Day, Nanjing Colostomy Association together with Taiwan Colostomy Association held the Celebration Activities in Nanjing, China. As the host, Huo Xiaorong, the Executive Director of Jiangsu Nursing Association, Ni Jingyu, the chairman of Jiangsu Ostomy Wound Continence Nursing Committee, parts of vice chairmen and ETs attended the event. Senior ET Yu Borui from Taiwan and Wu Ling from Nanjing made a general introduction about present situation of ostomy wound continence nursing in Taiwan and Nanjing respectively. The theme of World Stoma Day this year is Different stories, One voice. Focusing on the theme, the representatives of stoma patients from Taiwan and Nanjing shared their stories. IT expert Mr. Xu shared his story. He had the operation ten years ago. He talked about the process of anticancer and the ways he enjoyed the life such as cycling in Qinghai Lake, being a torchbearer in 2008 Olympic games, rock climbing, surfing and so on. Four patient representatives from Taiwan talked about what they went through during and after the operation. No matter how hard it is, they are still able to discover what life has to offer and enjoy it. Moreover, they are willing to help those people who are in the same situation as they once did. For example, some donated their handmade nursing products, some volunteered to help the disabled children. Mr. King, the manager of Cancer Rehabilitation Centre in Nanjing shared his story with a title named Appraise and respect life. He has gone through three major operations. His story and experience made us realize how valuable life is. His poetry brings the participants more confident to the life. Never give up is Mr. Dong s theme. He has been to hospital several times with two urinary stomas. During the hard time, his wife, Mrs. Dong, supported him all the way through. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in the hospital, enjoyed the light of scenery in snowy day on Zijin Mountain, and flew to Xiamen to watch the show River dance. Mrs. Dong not only took care of her husband, but also built a contact group on the internet about the patients with carcinoma of urinary bladder. This group has now over 500 members which is aimed to help other patients. In the event, a man dressing up as a sportsman attracted our attention. He rode a bike for 200 km from Anhui Province to attend the Celebration. He is a patient of Senior ET Yang Lifang and Zhang Yinan. Under ETs encouragement, he insists on sports, and lived a healthy lifestyle. He rode back after the event. BullETin January

10 The song The thanksgiving heart sang by ET Dai Xiaodong inspired everyone deeply. All the ETs and patients Danced together, showed the gratitude to the doctors, ETs and family members. With the song The friendship is lasting forever, the celebration was ended. Mrs. Huo Xiaorong who is deeply moved made a speech for the ending and made a good wish for every stoma patients. She believes that the patients will live a better life because of the rapid development of ostomy specific nursing in China. Setareh Azizi Elize, WCET ID Iran We celebrated World Ostomy day with our students. One of our Nurses has a stoma and she decided to be an ET Nurse. Who can find who that is? Otilia Cruz Castañeda and Guadalupe Lobo Cordero, ETs, Mexico According to the International Ostomy Association, there is one patient with an elimination ostomy in every 1,000 patients. This means that if the whole world population is 7,081,014, there are 708,014 persons who live with this health condition. The most recent studies from the specialized organizations estimate that 750 thousand people live with an elimination ostomy in EU, while there are 100 thousand in Spain, 33,864 in Brazil, 30 thousand in Argentina and 75 thousand in Mexico. These non-official data build a reference of a situation that is replicated worldwide with very little attention from the health authorities. In Mexico there is very little evidence about the number of people who live with that condition and their special needs. This factor implies that people find it hard to share and publicly recognize their health and special needs. For that reason, CMECE-AMCICHAC has signed for the world memorial day with the goal of showing that life condition through an informative campaign for professionals and public. Among with Distrito Federal, Michoacán, Monterrey, Guanajuato (León - Celaya), Aguascalientes and Hermosillo, there are 22 hospitals from ISSSTE, IMSS and the Health Ministry that held work groups with people with ostomies for health professionals, one workshop about injuries and ostomies, 7,000 flyers and 50 posters in different hospital zones which have reached at least 10 thousand health professionals and general public. 11 CMECE- AMCICHAC members celebrating the WOD in the street CMECE-AMCICHAC joins this memorial with the main idea: an ostomy saves a life and shares one thousand opportunities for people of the world. Even though, we are aware that it is necessary to keep working to improve the quality of life of these patients who deserve a better one in each of their communities and countries. For that reason, the commitment of education and sensibilization is permanent and so its slogan: the reality an ostomy hooks you to life, which shares the message with all the people who experience this condition and gives them a chance to keep going and enjoy the wonderful ride of life. 12 De acuerdo con la Organización Internacional de Ostomizados (IOA), se estima que por cada 1,000 habitantes en el mundo hay un paciente con una ostomia de eliminación, esto quiere decir, que si la población mundial absoluta es de 7,081,014,385 personas actualmente 7,081,014 personas viven con esta condición de salud. Las investigaciones de las organizaciones civiles estiman, por ejemplo, que en Estados Unidos alrededor de 750,000 personas viven con una estoma de eliminación, en el caso de España 100,000, Brasil con 33,864, Argentina con 30,000 y en nuestro país con más de 75,000 personas; estos números no oficiales, son un referente de una situación que se repite a nivel mundial y la que se le ha puesto muy poca atención, En nuestro país se desconoce el número exacto de personas con una estoma de eliminación y se cuenta con poca información que evidencie las condiciones y necesidades específicas con las que estas personas viven en México lo que condiciona que para una persona sea difícil reconocer públicamente que vive con una estoma de eliminación por temor a ser rechazado o despedido de su trabajo, lo que aumenta las posibilidades de recluirse en su casa por considerarse una carga para su familia, situaciones que se repiten constantemente. por tal motivo CMECE-AMCICHAC se ha sumado a la conmemoración del día mundial del pacientes ostomizado este 3 de octubre con el siguiente objetivo: dar visibilidad a esta condición de vida a través de una campaña informativa para profesionales de la salud y el público en general. Este evento se llevo acabo en la semana del 28 de septiembre al 2 de octubre de 2015; participaron Distrito Federal, Michoacán, Monterrey, Guanajuato (León - Celaya), Aguascalientes y Hermosillo Sonora, participando en la campaña 22 hospitales de ISSSTE, IMSS y Secretaria de Salud haciendo una mesa redonda de personas con estomas de eliminación para profesionales de la salud, un curso taller de heridas y estomas, distribuyendo 7000 trípticos colocando 50 carteles en las diferentes áreas de hospitalización y consulta externa e impactando en por lo menos profesionales de la salud y público en general. CMECE-AMCICHAC se suma a esta conmemoración ya que una ostomia salva la vida y brinda miles de oportunidades a las personas en el mundo, pero estamos conscientes de que es necesario seguir trabajando para que la calidad de vida de estas personas sea la que merecen en cada una de sus comunidades y países, por lo que el compromiso de educación y sensibilización al respecto seguirá siendo permanente y por esto nuestro eslogan La realidad...una ostomia te engancha a la vida lleva el mensaje a todas las personas ostomizadas que esta nueva condición de vida les da la oportunidad de continuar disfrutando de la maravillosa odisea de vivir. 19 Symposium on wound stoma and incontinence nursing in China together with opening ceremony of the 9th Nanjing Enterostomal Therapy Nursing Education Program. Yaluan (Julie) Weng. ET, Member of the Publications & Communications Committee There are currently 9 Enterostomal Therapist Schools in China, all of which are instructed and evaluated by WCET, conducting a 3 months long wound stoma and incontinence nursing educational program and training professional Enterostomal Therapists (ET) annually. Nanjing International Enterostomal Therapist School is third of them, which has trained 159 ET nurse students from 14 provinces since On September 18th and 19th, the opening ceremony of its 9th training course associated with a symposium on wound stoma and incontinence nursing was held in Huadong Hotel in Nanjing. ETs from Jiangsu Province and International Wound Stoma Incontinence experts On September 18, 2015, the ceremony day, past WCET President Louise Forest-Lalande, Dr Keryln Carville from Curtin University, Watanabe Shinichi from Japan and Michelle Wai-kuen Lee from Hong Kong Queen Mary Hospital gave mind-provoking speech respectively on history of wound care, paediatric wound care, approaches to alleviating sheer force and negative-pressure wound therapy. The four senior mentors conveyed their tremendous enthusiasm and absolute professionalism in their speech and interaction with the audience. Participants also include all ETs in Jiangsu Province who are dressed in rose red colour uniform that shows their passion on this career and the patients. During the second session on 19 th September, some experienced local ETs presented case studies and shared experience of special wound management. Bo Suping participated in the wound nursing of patients suffering from a massive explosion injury, and she shared her experience on the wound management during this kind of massive casualty. Her competency and proficiency conveyed during the emergency and the subsequent wound nursing was complimented by Dr Keryln Carville and Louise Forest-Lalande. 20 Overall, the symposium, with all the brilliant speech and sharing, was particularly informative. All the participants gained abundant knowledge in the two days sharing and their enthusiasm was greatly provoked. They all expressed their satisfaction on this event and their desire to advance their learning. 35 th Training days for Enterostomal Therapists, 13 to 16 October 2015, Lyon France Danièle Chaumier, AFET President Miss Louise Forest-Lalande and Dr Keryln Carville giving expert comments Organisied by the French Association of Enterostomal Therapy (AFET) these days were held this year in Valpré Centre near Lyon. Topics discussed were around legislation and good practice of prescription, differents way of being and acting as an ET (in public hospital, in private one, as independant, in pediatric, as a teacher ) in France, in Switzerland as in the humanitarian field. A focus was done on an actualisation of the medico-surgical knowledge, therapeutic education programmes, research done in stomaltherapy as the new appliances available in stoma, wounds and continence care. Industry had booths on Thursday and a library allowed participants access to a various selection of books in relation to our specialty. The President of the Aquitaine Association of EnteroStomal Therapy (AIFETA) and its board were there, showing that now the two association will work closely hand in hand. 21 XI Brazilian Wound Ostomy and Continence Congresss 2015 November 1st 4th Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil See Hee Park Kim, BSN, CETN (Nominated WCET International Delegate ) and Vera Santos PhD, CETN (Chairperson of WCET Education Committee; Director of SOBEST International Relationships) As each two years, Brazilian Association of Enterostomal Therapy: ostomy wound and continence care SOBEST has just held the 11 th Brazilian Enterostomal Therapy Congress, in the south of Brazil, Gramado city, Rio Grande do Sul. The Congress was held with the integration of the Educational Course of International Continence Society (ICS) (for the second consecutively congress year) and the 5 th Congress of the Brazilian Center for Urogynecology. The partnership between SOBEST and the ICS and Brazilian Society of Urology, consolidated once more the continence care field. 22 A thousand and twenty four attendees among nurses, ETN, physicians and industry members celebrated the 25 years of specialty since the development of the first ETNEP in the country (in 1990), under the coordination of Prof Dr Vera Lucia Santos. The Opening Ceremony enrolled the President and Vice President of SOBEST (Prof Dr Maria Angela Boccara de Paula and Prof Dr Gisele Regina de Azevedo, respectively), representants of Brazilian Nursing Association (ABEn) and Federal Council of Nursing (COFEn) besides Prof Dr Vera Lucia Santos, representing the President of WCET. During the ceremony, auditorium and parallel rooms keys were symbolically offered to Norma Gill and Vera Santos as international and national icons of ET Nursing. Twenty two companies sponsored the congress. SOBEST and WCET shared the booth and respective brochures besides other information were delivered by SOBEST secretary and by some SOBEST/ WCET members. The scientific program was very well evaluated for its excellent scientific level. International speakers such as Professor Dr Kevin Woo, from Queen s University; Professor Paulo Alves, from Catholic University of Porto in Portugal; Prof Dr John Mitchell Macdonald (USA); Milagros Castro Romera (Spain) and the physiotherapist Frankie Bates (Canada) were invited by industry in addition to the traditional national speakers. About 362 abstracts were selected out of 480 enrolled, and 328 were presented as oral (63) and electronic posters (265). Awards for the best oral and e-posters abstracts were delivered. 23 Certainly, the excellent scientific level and highly valued program and organization of this traditional biennial congress, by Brazilians and international attendees, increase the visibility and credibility of ET nursing in the country and abroad. SOBEST and WCET Booth Brazilian Enterostomal Therapy Nursing on Television This year has been very relevant for the specialty in Brazil not just because the National and International events in which SOBEST and its members have been enrolled but also because SOBEST has been increasing the ET Nursing visibility and credibility through an important communication via, there is, the open television channels. Since last September, SOBEST has been invited to take part of the Globo Net Television program Global Well Being (Bem Estar Global) indoor or outdoor to present and discuss about ostomy care, leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, skin tears and superficial wounds (such as abrasions, superficial burns, feet blisters and tattoos). Vitoria, Fortaleza, Campinas and São Paulo are the cities in which the programs were recorded. The World Day for Pressure Ulcer Prevention (November 19 th ) has been also celebrated through seminars, workshops and meetings around the country. New events will follow until the end of November.
